Turn off BlueCruise Camera?

New owner here, does anyone know if their is a way to turn off the cameras for blue cruise? I don't have it activated and I'd prefer to have the camera off.

You might have to explain what Forscan and FDRS are.

My guess is that someone this new is not going to be comfortable hacking at the car’s software.

Very true. In this case, just FORScan. However, if OP does not know what FORScan is, then experimenting with this may not be the best approach for him. I'd be happy to talk him through it, though if he wanted to try it.

@Max Power FORScan is free software that allows you (among many things) to change values within the hex codes of many of the modules in your car to customize it. Some FORScan changes are commonly known and popular, but something like what you want to do is not, so it would require experimenting. It requires a $35 adapter from Amazon to use it. @rugedraw I've done this on my F150 already. If you think 7C1-01-01 is a good place to start on MachE I can give it a try. Will probably be after Labor Day though.

Spreadsheet for the F150 looks identical to the Mach E in that location. Do you remember what you did to the truck when you did it?

I went back into a convo I had with @Snakebitten when he did this to his F150, and to disable the eye-nanny, the changes he made were to the IPMA and not the CMR itself. It was a change at 706-01-01 location. If the OP wants to take this route, I'll be happy to look into it further.

This is the F150 Forscan code to disable the eye scanning witch, which in turn DOES nix Bluecruise.

I disable her often when not traveling. It's so much nicer for her to mind her own business when I'm just using Adaptive Cruise/Lane Centering. I personally don't understand why eyescanning is in play if I'm not in Bluecruise mode.

Ok, so it may not be as simple as the one config change to disable the CMR. I'm sure that would disable the CMR, but maybe cause some warnings to pop up. @AjzRide I know you're comfy/cozy with FORScan. If you want, try it and see what happens and report back. You can always just change it back to what it was.

Note that the Asbuilt in red font is just my personal record of what that line was before the suggested edit to disable the eye scanning.

Also, I don't get any errors or warnings when I have the eye scanning nixed.

It's a handsfree safety feature.
The official Hands on safety feature is the steering wheel feedback sensor that urges you to put your hands on the wheel.

So disabling the safety feature associated with an option that you not only will be refraining from using, but disabling the option as well..... What's the beef? ??

A Mach-E or F150 without Bluecruise isn't even equipped with the eyescanner.
