I just noticed tonight I have an option for unbridled experience however greyed out said it depends on conditions etc. I have a GT not the higher version. Will I be able to experience this?

Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A, start.

It depends on temperature and battery conditions. Precondition with departure time and it’ll usually be available. The moon and stars must align just right for it to happen.

I put it on the charger for a bit and it engaged!

Donā€˜t get your hopes up. Unbridle Extend just reduces power output so that the car can last longer on the track without overheating.

Pretty much, it makes the power equivalent to a Premium trim.

a more appropriate name for unbridle extended should of be Premium emulation mode.

And if you’re like the rest of us, you’ll try it once, realize it sucks, and never hit that button again.

Ford actually BRAGGED about that mode in the beginning and don’t talk about it much anymore.

Really not sure what they were thinking with unbridle extend. They hobbled the car’s power from the start. Then pitched it as a track car. Then created a ā€œtrack modeā€ that basically just makes the car slower.

They never should have pitched it as a track car and should have scrapped unbridled extend altogether.

I wonder if the 2024 will even have that mode. If they fixed the power delivery and limits, that mode will be obsolete.

I thought it would be similar to the Cadillac’s ā€œVā€ type

I keep hearing this and I’ve never felt any power loss or difference on my Premium 4X - sounds like I saved not getting a GT lol

Not unless you want GT power without the Extended thingy.

I think the acceleration on my Premium 4x is more than enough honestly. Seems like I’d be giving up the longer ā€œholdā€ of power for slightly better acceleration

I believe this mode also disables regenerative braking and traction control (but maybe that can turn back on? Need to confirm this before I hit the track again). It is a "track" mode, the problem is that it does limit the performance for perhaps not that much extra endurance. It definitely isn't magic, would still like to test it out more myself, but if you're just on the road it is something you'll probably want to avoid.
