If 2022s are doing it, it may be the power lift gate that’s the root of the problem. Why it would open on its own is still a mystery, but to me sound like a software bug.

It should show on your window sticker if anything was omitted due to chip shortages as they typically come with small cost savings.
No, the kick sensor was deleted for the model year. It doesn't show anywhere. The park assist delete is the only credit, $325.

everyone should be putting their fobs away from their car at night or in a faraday bag either way to prevent fob repeater attacks
Yeah a new 2022 won't have handsfree liftgate unless you enabled it with FORScan. So I don't think it's that.

Is it possible you accidentally clicked the button on the key fob twice? Like it got pressed against something by accident?
i thought there was hardware missing, not software locked?

Nope, it was just software locked on 2022s. Why is anyone's guess, but it's possible that these phantom openings may have played a role in that decision. Whether or not the 2023 models come with the hardware remains to be seen.

actually my frunk pops about 40% of the time when my kids punch in my code on the driver door to unlock it. It is parked in my garage and they don't have a phone or key nearby. It's annoying so far. And I haven't used the code when not at home so don't know if that will happen when we are out an about. Super annoying, but another reason to shrug my shoulders and move on...
Hey there! If you send over a DM with your VIN and Ford dealer info, I can look into your trunk concern on my end.

This just happened to me for the 3rd time over the course of a year. I have PAAK set up, the car was unlocked, kick to open feature is on, car was parked in the garage, no pets, no rain. It -seems- like the problem might occur the day after a software update - at least this was the case the most recent time. Not sure if OTA is related. I'll be installing padding on the garage door itself since I now have 2 scratches.
