I appreciate your post, but as an owner who has spent (and is currently spending) an inordinate amount of time trying to even get the local service dept on the phone I think you (as an EV-focused employee of a dealer) have avoided a tremendous amount of the frustration many here have gone through.

The service departments are either totally overwhelmed or completely unprepared, it seems. While I have been incredibly patient during my two years of ownership, understanding the growing pains of local techs needing to be trained/repairs and updates taking much longer than Ford reimburses for etc, reading through your "mostly" glowing post made me feel like you were not subject to a major component of stress that most face.

I enjoy my car, and don't regret the purchase, but the sheer volume of my time it has taken to attempt to communicate/work with both the local dealer and Ford is not nothing ... and while many of the issues we've all faced should be getting worked out, I do feel like prospective owners should take this into consideration when consuming your "hey man, a ton of miles and barely any problems!" post.

Thanks for sharing, sincerely, just wanted to point that out.
Sorry I am just seeing your post here.

Actually, the first HVJB was done by a dealer 6+ hours away so we drove the rental home, turned it in locally and had to fly to go pickup the Mach-E when it was finished 30 days later.

My dealer refused to do the Windshield/Roof reseals because the vendor they use would not do the work for what Ford was paying them to do it.

This lead to me making an appointment at another dealership locally to have the work done that had great reviews about it. The second HVJB was also done by this dealership in particular as well.

So I can assure you, even to this day we have had our frustrations with the car. Even now there are a ton of Diag trouble codes that consistently are thrown and do not affect the operation of the vehicle but it is annoying to know these are always there.....

I also would like to add, I was not trying to imply all these miles and no problems. However, being an early adopter we have accepted that we were like the guinea pigs.

Unfortunately I have seen too many other with trouble with any help from their dealer or Ford and I hope that it gets better as time moves on. So many dealers did not know what they were getting into and the customer is ultimately suffering.

If I can help anyone at any point I am more than happy to try! I do know what it is like not knowing what to do, I am very thankful for this page and all the help from others!!!

What is the warranty on HVJB ? Mine is a 2021 Oct and 26k miles in ..No failure ..I am worried I might have a failure out of warranty !!! This should be a recall
I think this part falls apart of the Hybrid/electrical component parts so should be warranty up to 100k or 8 years I believe but I could be wrong.

My dealer's service advisor told me that it's 8 years/100k as well. Although I have a Select SR RWD, which no one with this configuration seems to have the HVBJB issue yet (as far as i know), I won't feel comfortable holding onto the car pass that milestone if the problem hasn't shown up by then. Sounds like a very pricey repair if done out of warranty.

I would buy it again. I have experienced some issues with the convenience features but the critical functions have been rock solid for me.

Just wanted to update this post, we finally broke down and ordered a set of tires. Expected to be installed on Friday.

I will post a pic of the tread when they come off. As of right now mileage is at 72,844 so should be over 73k by the time they are replaced.

Makes me want to write to Michelin and send a picture as proof of how much life we got out of this first set. Looking forward to another 70k on this next set of tires!

Ordered from Tire rack to be delivered and installed by the dealer I work at, came out to 248 each with tax. Not too bad I suppose!

Based on the usage everyday the battery seems to be well still, however I do not have access to the computer to see. Never bought a tool to scan it and see the stats, but I am curious!

You definitely need to get an OBD2 reader and report back. This is what I have and like. It works with ABRP too:

I am going to have the Tech pull the info when they do the Tires on Friday. Not interested in spending $$ on that tool for now. Since 90% of our charging is Level 2 and the miles seems to be correct still I think the battery is in good health. But regardless still curious about it now as well. Will report back!

Nice write up. This is my second MME, and I have 8.5 k miles on it. My previous I went through HVJB, this one I just went through HVJB. I just had to replace tires on this one because something sliced into the side wall of one. I’m hoping for no major service for the next 50k miles. I’ll do my 10k religiously, but that should be a while you wait sort of thing.

prior to 50k miles we were rotating every 7500 miles give or take. The 10k seems too long on an AWD model, and the way the vehicle is driven. I think we may have squeezed a little more live out of them. It is driven pretty hard most of the time, the miles are about 90% highway miles here in the Bay area of San Francisco so roads are not great either...

That’s insane, I had to change mine out at 26k. Love to know how you were able to get that many miles. On my 3rd set at 45k miles

That is mind boggling. The Michelin OEM set has a treadlife warranty of 55k. What tread depth were they at each time you have replaced them? What pressure are you running them at?
