After 31 days, I now have my updated HVBJB installed and I was able to go out to my normal back country road loops for some fun.... I mean testing...
As some of you know, this is my second HVBJB replacement, as my first one failed in May at 6,000 miles and I missed the updated part being released by a couple weeks at that time. That replacement lasted until 12,000 miles and this time I received the updated "C" version of the HVBJB. Over the weekend I was able to put on just over 500 miles and all went well. Today that even included a stop at EA as I could not keep up with the charging on level 2 at the house with all of the driving. I still have a huge grin from the last few days and it made me realize how much I missed going out each weekend enjoying the MME out in the country. This car is truly amazing both as a daily driver and weekend toy.
My first replacement took 10 days and the second took 31 days. One thing I learned on the second replacement is to monitor when the parts come in and make sure the advisor knows when it is there. My dealer ordered the parts right away and after two weeks of hearing nothing I called the parts department directly and found out the part had already come in. Now, I do not know if the advisor really did not know that (and how long the part had been sitting there), but after I told him the part was there that started the "clock" as to when they would be able to get the car back into the shop to install the new part. In this case it was another 18 days before they would have the time.
Anyway, that is all behind me and I am back in the saddle again, happy to be testing out the updated part. We will see what happens when I hit the 18,000 mile mark. Here are a couple pictures from the last few days.
