Yes the "mustaches" are different but you have to be in the front of the car to see that and like you said the Premiums can have a gloss black smooth mustache or a complete black GT front grille. The Selects always have a matte black ridged mustache.
Being new to the Mach-E world, until now, I thought that the big flat expanse was the moustache and the black trim at the bottom was the mouth :D
Always have been a great fan of the GT 'grille', and when I saw the Sport Appearance Package' I was sold...

You can tell by the front turn signals. The Premium has sequential front LED turn signals (moving amber lights) and LED signature lighting, whereas the Select has standard LED turn signals without the animation.
My 24 select has sequential turn signals

Interesting topic! I started collecting car brochures as a kid and learned to spot styling changes that came with each model year. Much easier back then when grilles and taillights changes each year and the brochures would be a useful guide to spot differences between trim lines, The Mach E like most modern cars though have subtle changes not so easy to spot. I was happy my dealership still had paper brochure for my 2025 Mach E Premium but I didn’t collect any from the prior years. So I am thinking piece together my own spotter’s guide using the tips in this thread as a start. If Ford did put out paper brochures on the 2021, 2022, 2023 or 2024 Mach E and someone has one they are looking to get rid of it, I’d be happy to pay postage and give it a new home with my 2025 brochure.

I believe the white running lights in the front for the Select is just a straight line while all others have a straight line with drop downs.

Again, that was only '21-'23. '24 and up ALL headlights are the same.

On a trip to NJ yesterday in my Flex pulling our camper and pulled up behind a silver Mach E. Immediately I asked myself what year and model. The model was easy as this had a “GT” emblem where I have a Mustang horse on my 2025 Premium. How about the year? I only got to see the back and the side briefly. It was a silver color (not blue silver but just silver) with the bumper trim in the back a glossy piano black color. A quick glance at the side and I see it had the flower pedal wheels. Not sure if that is enough to tell the model year thought. Any other clues from my photo?

How do you know it’s a 2021? Color and wheel combo?

Color. Iconic Silver was only available in 2021. Those wheels were available from '21-'24
