Thanks for the reply Heisnuts. I did as they asked, and reinstalled the app. There was still battery drain afterwards. I don't have any 3rd party apps running, or authorized. I saw that as a probable cause in a post by Mach-Lee.

I guess coming from a hardware/software background I don't want this to be the old trope "Well I could not reproduce it on my system" type of thing. I also am unsure why the dealer removed the car from my account. I would hope there was some level of tiered access where they can monitor the car, and not gack the vehicle from my account. It came with all sorts of nice warnings about all my connected services being discontented because of the new owner.
They probably want to rule out your account as causing the issues. If it's fine on their account but starts draining again when you take it over, then they know there's something accessing the vehicle with your credentials. There could be an app or service from the past that you forgot about using or you didn't realize was using your account without your permission. That's why I recommend changing your FordPass password before going to the dealer, just in case something was using it.

Somebody at Ford can probably check who or what's accessing your account, but the dealer has no way of contacting them so they just have to Master Reset things.

An update as of 2024-04-17 on what's happened:

The dealer called me on Tuesday and told me that everything was fixed, there were no warnings over the weekend and I was good to take the car home. I got to the dealership and we reloaded fordpass on my phone, and assigned the MachE back to me from the dealership. I showed the Service Manager that on the Ford Website the 12v battery was showing 45% and he told me that they never get any warnings. They kept the car overnight and then called me first thing Wednesday morning that I should come get the car, that their lead tech said it was good to go.

I arrived at the dealership and the lead tech came out. I showed him that the car was charged on their level 2 charger, and that at just after 1pm when it concluded charging the 12v system was up over 90% charged. I showed him the 12v system on my phone which was at 63%, so over a 30% drop in charge. He said he'd bring over the diagnostic computer and show me that the State of Charge was fine, and that it never drops below 80%. When he hooked it up it showed 63% just like the Ford webpage.

The lead tech explained that my battery never needed to be jumped, that it kept going into "Deep Sleep" so they would just start it and let it recharge.

He also told me that they did not call the Ford Field Tech for my car, but he was there for another issue, and they asked him to troubleshoot mine. That is when they manually updated every module on the car. When it was still discharging they called their assigned field tech, and asked for a replacement Telemetrics Module. He was confused as to why they would need it, and refused that as their next step.

This is when they called me to get the vehicle from the shop. the theory is that because they were not driving the car, the 12v system would discharge rapidly. They asked me to monitor it and bring it back if there is an issue.

So far this is the very high level summary of the issue:

2023-11-27 - Battery discharged, Dealership cleared an error code14G490, and updated a module on the car

2024-03-08 - Battery discharged, and the dealer referenced issue 6792969 - Replaced the 12v battery.

2024-03-08 - New battery discharged in about 8 hours, and the dealer took the car back in

2024-04-17 - Referenced DTC b1616 - replaced the 12v battery, cleaned a diagnostic pin, and ran all available software updates on the vehicle.

Days in the shop: 42
Batteries replaced: 2
Repair attempts: 3

This morning I went out to the car, pressed the door button and the plungers stayed extended. I turned on the car and ran it for 30 mins, and the battery is now reading ~70% charge.

I'm not sure what the next step is, as the battery keeps going into "deep sleep mode" which apparently does not trigger a warning that is visible by the Ford diagnostics.

Note: There are no 3rd party apps or accessories plugged into the car or USB ports.

Ask the dealer to initiate a buy back with Ford. Then go see a lemon law attorney. Thisvus beyond absurd.
