I wonder why that's needed since it should happen automatically based on the weight sensor in the seat. Maybe a regulatory thing in Sweden?

Absolutely. Most likely a EU rule. Should you put a baby seat up front, it should be fastened "front-to-back". In case of the airbag inflating, the baby could be crushed by the bag pressing the seat + baby into the seat back..so, you disengage the air-bag !

That is probably the absolute worst place to put that switch.

My FFE has the same blank key so I've been used to it for 10+ years. BUT it would allow you to force shift into N using only that 'key' and the shifter. Not sure getting a totally dead MME into N will be much fun.

Can you produce a YouTube video for us? I think the entire community would really like to see how you do this!
Nevermind I found out it's just a metal bad to stick in the fob or rigidity

One of the problems with keyless fobs is you no longer have anything to "key" the car next to you when they park too close. Ford thinks of everything.
Yep, its for drawing dicks on the hood of ICE cars blocking chargers.

I've had the car nearly a year.
I've poured over ancient texts, traveled to far away lands and broken the hearts of exotic beauties.
Okay, that is not entirely true, I've never read any ancient texts.
Yet after all my trials and tribulations, I'm not closer to solving the mystery of just what da heck dis ting is?
Toothpick?
Weapon?
Missile key?

There might be times when you desperately want a key...for something! Like when an a**hole parks too close to you, or god forbid, dings you...or an ICE has parked in the last charging spot...
