It is the side-emitting lasers, you hold the Park button down for 3 seconds, and depress the hazard button right after, and you can cut through steel like it's butta.

Funny, I literally just noticed those this morning... Oh, and I'm pretty sure Rick is right.

He is. While on a test drive, I accidentally vaporized a bus shelter while at a stoplight.

You guys already used the best jokes, so I'll try to provide a (relatively) useful answer.

If you're talking about the nubs sticking out from the lens, I believe they're for aerodynamics, helping to guide airflow around the grill and the mirrors.

Lasers, indeed. Vaporizing busses, even. You realize this is why we can't have nice things, don't you?

I just thought we couldn't have nice things because they were promised but never delivered OTA or they're locked behind a paywall.

That explains it!

Appears to be engineered as a diffuser or fresnel lens but the actual light passing through it is minimal. Perhaps it reflects stray light back into the headlight assembly? I’ll go with the laser analysis.
