Completely asinine that Ford didn't include this from the factory since the car literally has the capability baked in.
The first cars built, 2021 job 1, didn’t have this capability built in and that was why the fob didn’t have it. The only way to open the frunk on those cars was a double pull on the manual release until the middle of 2024.

Wait, what, Park Assist won't park my car? Never tried it but always expected it would work however poorly. I watched YouTube videos where people used it. Now disappointed because when I show someone my car I tell them it will do that and was hopeful that it would some day work well.

My car has park assist, but it's a "full self driving" level stretch to say it works.
The truth is I've tried/used it once when I first got the car. After about a half hour, It did actually back itself into a space.

I’ve tried it a half dozen times. It’s too slow to find a spot, the process to start it is cumbersome, and once it does go - it either freaks out that it’s going to hit something and gives up or just flat out tries to hit something and makes you panic cancel it.

Just because the 2021s didn't have it doesn't mean they can't change things. The updated fob worked perfectly on my mid 2023 build. Ford is doing a terrible job at updating things on these cars, year over year or OTAs that matter.

I was responding to your statement which omitted facts. Later cars came with remotely operable frunks while others did not. The frunk emergency release, as designed, was not within NHTSA rules at the time the car was designed and first put into production. That was the likely a significant part of the reason there was no frunk release on the fob.

Personally, the lack of a frunk release on the fob doesn’t concern me in the slightest as I never carry a fob to begin with. The soft button on the screen works just fine, as does the manual release, same for the FordPass button, or you can use the keypad. There are logic ways to open the frunk and the trunk beyond the fob:

Omitted facts? I don't know anything about the 2021 cars. The fact that my 2023 came with the programming and hardware to use a fob to remotely open the frunk, but didn't actually give me a $90 fob with the capability to open it, is stupid.

That's cool that there are other ways to open the frunk, but the fob is the most convenient for 95% of people. The app is way too slow and unreliable. I don't think the upgraded version of the app even has the frunk/hatch opening capability without using PAAK, which I don't. It used to be on the app home screen and now it's not. So they even took that capability away.

I think Ford has removed more features than they have added, which was the original theme of this whole thread.
