Hey everyone, hoping to get some insight into what's happening with my 2023 Mach-E. I have been charging predominantly at my home for the two years that I have owned the vehicle with no problems. Charge usually takes about 5-7 hours to complete. I recently had recall service completed at dealership as well as replacement of an electrical/radio module because the car wouldn't go to sleep and was experiencing an electrical drain. Everything was resolved and dealer charged my car. I charged at home again for the first time a couple of days later, where it was a trickle charge and taking about 18-24 hrs. I checked my home charger and everything seemed to be working fine with it. I also am unable to find an adjustment for the charge rate in the car or app. Any insight to get my normal charging speed back? I have not tested on other chargers yet.

You cannot adjust the charge rate of a 2023.

"Home charger" could be any brand. If it displays lights, manual tells you the meaning.

And, testing on a level 2 charger elsewhere would isolate the issue.

Thanks, Lights on charge point charger all indicating things are working properly and charge point indicates 48amps which it always has been. I guess I will test somewhere else as well. I appreciate your help

Does Chargepoint have an app that shows what it is putting out? My autel shows 46.5 which is apparently the max that the car will take.

You might try rebooting the Chargepoint equipment in the app (assuming it is also showing a lower than usual charge rate). I noticed my vehicle was charging slowly the other day. Both the car and the charger showed ~4kw when it is normally closer to 11. I rebooted and when the charger came back online, restarted the charge and it reset to the 11kw I was used to.

A great example of why using an intelligent charger with connection to the cloud is at your own risk, even when a reputable company is behind it.

Enel-X, the company behind Juicebox, and owned by Enel Group, an Italian company worth nearly $100 billion, abandoned the North American market. No more app, unless you switch to a nobody company based in South America or something.

I swapped my JuiceBox boards for $125 each to OpenEVSE, and now have control in my hands, with web browser access, but only locally.

This leads me to ask whether Ford Pass App functions, e.g. setting a departure time is controlled from the vehicle/Ford network or via the charger itself.
Ford EV support says departure times only work with Ford chargers and Emporia told me their chargers need to be controlled via their app. However, the Ford mobile charger is a dumb device so whether departure times are stored locally at the vehicle or the Ford network, seems any charger should respond to the departure time power request. Hope this makes sense.

I have a Chargepoint HomeFlex charger, and this exact same thing happened to me. All of sudden I was only getting 3.5kW, when I was getting 9kW for years. I used an online calculator to figure out that at 240V, the Chargepoint had dropped it's amp setting to 16 amps. The setting on my Chargpoint app still showed that it was at 40 amps (which is correct for my 50 amp circuit).

I tried changing the amp setting down to a lower level and save (thinking I could then set it back up to the higher setting), but it would never save my changes. I finally called Chargepoint support, and was on hold for over an hour. Once I finally got someone, they removed my charger from my account. I then had to go through the setup in the app again to add the charger to my account, and select 40 amps. Once I did that, my charging is back to 9kW.

The person on the phone said it's a known issue that keeps happening, and that if it happens again, I can use the app to remove the charger from my account, and add it back in. No need to wait on hold for an hour.

Hope this helps!

Departure times work with any L2 charger.
