It's the other way around. You can turn off TC and Unbridled Extend Turns off TC. ESC doesn't turn all the way off. You can feel it, and you can see the icon appear on the dash when it intervenes.

Check page 187-189 here: https://www.fordservicecontent.com/...Owners-Manual-version-1_om_EN-GBR_09_2020.pdf

"You cannot switch stability control off"
Alright I get it, but keep in mind that manual printing was pre GT release.

Have you tried holding the button until it says "advance trac off"? Or did you only try unbridled extended? Generally speaking in both my F350 and my 16 mustang, and my focus RS (previously owned) when you hold the button for 10 seconds for "advancetrac off" it turns it COMPLETELY off.

I understand in non GT models you can't turn ESC off - which makes sense - but at some point I believe they added the option to turn it off in GT (maybe GT PE only) but they didn't update the manual.

The next time it rains I'll go to my favorite parking lot I like to do donuts in and turn it off and see if it is truly fully off and report back.

I will definitely try it. When I just checked in my GTPE, it did allow me to turn "AdvanceTrac Off," but I wasn't driving and haven't tested it yet. If this is true, that would be amazing. Now I need to find a place I can go test it (like you said, next time it rains) :)

Note to answer your question, I was not in Unbridled Extend. Just Unbridled.

I haven't actually tried turning ESC off in unbridled extended but in other modes it turns off. I assume it would still turn off in extended.

Anyone with a non PE GT want to let us know if you can turn AdvanceTrac off in a normal GT?

"You literally can shut it all off"
Yes I've always remembered he said this, them saw nothing else confirming it. If this is now how I can turn it all off, I'm more than pumped!! :)

Page 202 on this owners manual printing it says you can switch off stability control now: https://www.fordservicecontent.com/...s-Manual-Job-2_version-1_om_EN-US_05_2021.pdf

Ford is dumb and has the latest manual in the "past printings" tab. Instead of the current...they need to flip them.
Love this; thank you!! Man I wish I knew on Sunday where I was actually able to safely test it out without bothering my neighbors. haha

@jeffziss check this out (and let us know if you get a chance to test it out and see how it behaves on corner exit!)!

Also more info on unbridled extended. It appears the only reason you can't enable it is due to low temp/battery temp according to this:

Unbridled Extend
This feature adjusts unbridled mode to
provide high-performance driving and is
for track and closed course use only. When
activated, this mode provides balanced
power output for lap time consistency. The
accelerator pedal is calibrated for
improved propulsion control. The system
provides more performance orientated
traction and stability control. In this mode,
traction and stability control intervention
is reduced and tuned specifically for track
usage only. The interior sound increases
and the ambient lights and cluster graphics
are set to orange with a graphic related to
your acceleration and steering inputs.
To use this feature, you must be in
unbridled mode with the unbridled extend
slider selected with the battery at
operating temperature. When using this
mode, one pedal drive is not available and
other driver assistance features are
disabled.

Note: This feature may not be available in
temperatures below 32°F (0°C), or 59°F
(15°C) for the battery.

Note: If the feature is not available, charge
your vehicle until the battery has sufficient
charge, and temperature conditions are met.

So, on track, I definitely shutoff the nannies. Please keep in mind that I have more than 150 track days under my belt. I am not recommending this for anyone without track experience!

It 100% let's you slide the car, throttle steer and drift the car. Sound like fun? Yes, right up until someone crashes their car when they have them off. I don't have enough time on track to know whether it's actually faster or not. Our egos want us to think that we can out drive the nannies, but the F1 cars love theirs. What does that tell us?
