Is Mach E updates included on models being built for 2021 or is it starting with 2022 models? Updates like the autofrunk release and if quicker charging times for the battery.

yes, the 2021's will be getting the software updates. The hardware for the electronic frunk release has always been there but was disabled in the US due to a mysterious disagreement with regulators over safety (kids getting locked in the frunk)

Every vehicle is made with the most current software. What exists when they setup the vehicle, you get. Always can be new things on the horizon. Neither of the things you list are in any vehicle yet.

On the sun roof recall, does anyone know if cars in shipment right now will already have the glass reapplied ? I suppose not, but just wondering, as my mme is being shipped and 4 weeks out to arriving at my dealers. Do you think I will have an added wait for the window replacement?

Based on other cars, I don’t believe they’re allowed to be delivered with an open recall.

This means that if it’s built now and on its way, they did the “fix” at the factory.

I remember with my SS, there was a period of a couple months they couldn’t deliver any cars while figuring out a solution for a seat belt recall.

But since they already have the solution for the Mach E, probably not going to hold things up.

That’s what I’m hoping since my GTPE was built and shipped today (according to the email I got).

Thank you. I was reading that owners will have to wait until they get notified of the recall appointment, so that could be disappointing…today I checked my vin status is in transit and it finally has a delivery week Of November 5. who knows anymore….?‍♀

Currently, the recall is for cars built between February 24 and June 18. Cars built after that time are not covered by the recall. It’s also correct that cars with open recalls cannot be sold. If the recall expands to a vehicle currently enroute, then it’ll be fixed before you take delivery.

ok, thank you for the info. So I take it thpose cars built after June 18 will have had the issue addressed during their build, so my date of mid July does not need the recall. I was just wondering if some cars in that June-July builds would slip through the cracks. (No pun intended,??) guess I don’t trust their accuracy…

We’re not sure yet. Ford says they are, but nine months later not a single substantive update has materialized.
