My question is in the title: What is Ford Premium Connectivity?

Or more precisely, what do I lose if I don't continue to pay for it?
Google says
Some features of Ford Premium Connectivity include:
  • Streaming: Listen to music, podcasts, and audiobooks from services like Amazon Music, Spotify, Audible, and Pandora
  • News: Get personalized flash briefings for local, national, and global news
  • Games: Play games with friends and family, or take the Quiz of the Day
  • Voice assistance: Use voice commands to access streaming apps and more
I guess I understand all of that, but I always drive with my phone and with Android Auto enabled so I assume any of the listed functions would still be available via AA.

Essentially what I said in my post, I think. It feels vague (and not worth the subscription fee).
Do you have it? If not did you miss anything suggested but not listed?

No matter, I've canceled it.

I never used it. I have zero need for watching YouTube in my car let alone paying for it. Just me.

I'm also confused after 20 minutes of reading Ford's links, searching google, and reading the forums.

Premium connectivity says "real-time traffic from Google Maps" and "Alexa built-in." Yet there's another service called "Alexa built-in" and one called "Connected Navigation." Alexa built-in requires two services? And Connected navigation also has real-time traffic? Connected navigation seems to have voice controls, but then there are two voice assistants (one for Alexa and one for Google Assistant?). And I can just plug my phone in for Apple Car Play or Android Auto? I think I can be forgiven for being a little lost.

Add to the confusion... premium connectivity seems to offer the ability to install google apps? That would be super handy, especially if I could install Google Maps and use the route planning you recent released for Android Auto. But I can't figure out how that would work.

If you have the urge to jump in and help me out, I welcome it, but let's pause to notice the loss to @Ford Motor Company. This thread is an embodiment of purchasing friction. Customers are trying to help each other understand Ford offerings because Ford's own help is unclear. Scouring forums might be fine for early adopters, but not for early majority. Soon Ford is going to run out of motivitated researchers.

That's a shame... I want Ford to have a sustainable sustainability practice, which I think means more subscription revenue. An easy first step is to remove the friction with clear options. It's the now in now, next, later. Tell me what job the subscritpion helps me do.
