Am I the only person who actually enjoys reading manuals?
I downloaded and read it several times before I got my car too! In fact, I knew more than the sales person on the day of delivery. ?

Nope. I read the manual at least 3 times during the long wait for my car. Spending this much money on a car without being bothered to learn everything about it is a foreign concept to me.
I read through it as well before getting my car but I confess it’s hard to really absorb it all since without the car there it can be a little too abstract and tedious, at least for me. I find I retain more if I read a section motivated by an actual question. It’s also much harder to search in a useful way using the in car version. It’s way better searching the pdf on a device.

I see. Explain yourself exhaustively before you ask anything silly to avoid judgment and prejudice. Got it, thank you.
No, you misunderstand my point. Your question wasn't silly, it just lacked context.

Most of the regulars here help people all the time, including Rick. It makes it easier to help someone if the question includes a little more than just a simple question that can be answered in many ways. Your question didn't provide any background.

All I am saying is if you want honest help from the experts who frequent this forum, and there are many, make a little effort to explain what you are asking, and don't get offended if someone assumes something when you don't.

tbh "knowing more than the sales person" is a low bar for most of us to be able to clear. ;)

While waiting for the vehicle I downloaded then printed the manual for reading.

I also watched many “how to” videos and reviews on YouTube.

It's not THAT much money. At least, not 3 reads worth!

Once I noticed the cubby under the phone tray, I felt like I knew everything I really needed to know. PRNDL, pedal on the right, button on the door. Got it. Just about everything else is either idle curiosity, or learnable OTR.

That said, as was mentioned earlier, sometimes the immediacy of being able to post the question here (phone in hand, able to take pictures, record sounds, whatever) is beneficial - I often forget the question or lose the symbol long before I have a chance to look it up in the manual.

I don't often post manual-related questions, but I certainly appreciate those who can answer them, and I understand those who ask them. As I've said before, though, we need a higher level of snark in some of the answers., rather than condescension. I'll give RickMachE full snark points for his print-it-out comment - the memory stick part really put it over the top. Well done.
