I wash and wax mine the same way I do the rest of the painted (clearcoated) body. Has not been a problem so far.
Sure. The older wheel cleaner I used, you just spray and rinse off. Super convenient.

I've used wheel cleaner, also. I was just trying to say no special chemicals to avoid for the wheels as compared to the other clearcoated areas of the car.

I'm willing to pick up your car and bring it back tomorrow with clean wheels. Heck, I'll even charge the battery. PM me your address. ???

That is one hideous and poorly conceived menu. First of all, its ugly. Second, how many cars come with factory chrome plated wheels anymore? And they make it the first option? Oh boy. The Mach-e premium wheels are polished metal and painted. That isn’t even an option. It’s like these people have no idea what is happening here on Earth.

Geez. Not sure why that triggers you so much. They sell products for people with classic cars too.

Sorry for my harsh tone. I’m a product designer. The fact that you had to pose the question on this forum felt like evidence that the menu was poorly conceived, and in my response I chose some strong language meant to empathize with users who struggle to figure out what should be a simple question, because (I think) the options weren’t well thought out. But it’s not all that serious. Just folks trying to help people figure out what polish to purchase. Good luck!

Well I had no idea if it was clear coated alloy or polished aluminum.

But there are parts that are painted too.

There is clear on the paint. The best way to keep the wheels clean is the find a good ceramic spray. Like Adams . Spray it on when wheel are clean and wipe it off. see directions. Do this every six months. Normal washing will remove the brake dust as long as it is washed weekly. Using regenerative brakes really shouldn't be very much dust.
