When does Alexa expire for you all? Does Ford.com even list an expiration date?

I was looking at Ford.com and realized that I somehow still have Alexa, despite it having been supposedly a 3-year trial. I clicked into it to see what the expiration date was, and there isn't one listed. By contrast my Bluecruise shows an expiration date next week (see screenshots below).

I'm worried that one day they are going to just up and decide to charge me for this. And I have no way to cancel it anywhere I can see (even if I scroll all the way down). I don't need it. I don't use it ever.

I know Alexa can be disabled in my vehicle, but I do not believe that is turning off the service itself. Is there a way to do that? Does anyone else's' Alexa show an expiration date on Ford.com?

I have a vehicle I took delivery of in 2021. 4 years ago this month.

Unknown. My account for (I assume) my 2024 just says that Alexa Built-In is Active. It also does not list an expiration date for the trial. I just have it turned off in my car.

I don't exactly know which subscriptions in my Mach-E or Powerboost are propping up Alexa, but I do know 2 little granddaughters that would not tolerate Alexa deciding to quit riding with them when they are in my cars.

If it does turn out that Alexa is on my payroll, she will get paid. That it pretty much guaranteed.

I never activated Alexa, it is awful in one of my other vehicles and do not use it. So, I will never get charged for it.

Weird, it was automatically activated when Ford released it on my 2021. I had to disable it on my 2021. It was not activated on my 2024 when I got it though.

I think that Premium Connectivity is the prerequisite and that’s what has an expiration date?

It’s confusing to me. Similar language (“Alexa on the go” vs “bring Alexa with you”). I’m not sure what I’m getting at each choice point. Does premium connectivity come with Alexa? Why a second choice? I don’t use Alexa because someone would need to tell me why I should care for it in the car. So I let premium connectivity go.

No Premium Connectivity is required, unless you want CONTENT. 3 years from in-service date is included.

The Premium Connectivity allows you to use Alexa without your phone, to do things like stream music. The built-in Alexa can be issued commands. And, without Premium Connectivity, you can stream content just fine, it goes through your phone.

That's my understanding. I use Google, not Alexa.

Mine used to show an expiration in car of 9/2025, that came and went, I cant find an expiration anymore, and alexa still works. I am guessing they still want access to my data, so right now amazon doesnt care they arent getting paid by me, they are mining everything I do and say in the car for profit!

I don't recall activating Alexa but it shows Active. I don't see how to disable it in Fordpass. I won't be withmy car until tonight. Is there a way to disable it in the car.

The opposite is true for me. I got so confused that I said “to hell with it,” and never gave the service a chance.

Whether people remember it or not, they had to log into their Alexa account to get it to work.
If you want to turn it off, you have to do it in the car. Once you select the car/settings button, you will see an Alexa button at the bottom of the list. Selecting that and then signing out will disable Alexa.


On your Ford.com account Dashboard -> Manage Connected Services -> Alexa Built-In -> Manage it states this:

Since I use Alexa for my smart home it is useful to me at times, but frankly I could do without it in the car given that I can use Google. But I can do things like ask if the garage door is close without having to get my phone out.

Same, I never re-upped it in my 2022 and it should’ve expired months ago, but she’s still there, happily telling me the weather, turning my lights off, and interrupting the occasional podcast when a word that sounds vaguely like Alexa is said.
