Actually, they say the fix will be available in November of 2022. Ford should really stop putting dates on things.
Yeah. And to pile on, it's not just the MME doing this.

I have had the 'headlights staying on' bug for some time. Recently it seems to be happening more often. I do not hear an alarm beep when it happens. I have always caught it within 5 -10 minutes of exiting the car, but I am wondering if the lights will eventually turn off at some point (hopefully before the battery dies.) Has there been any recent response from Ford as to where they are with a fix?

Yes the lights will turn off after several minutes (10? 20? I don't remember) to save the battery.

Strange that you don’t get the ‘ding’ while the door is open. I don’t recall anyone else reporting this.

I am somewhat hard of hearing;). May have to turn up the hearing aids.

Then mine is the second you hear with this condition, have had the bug happen maybe 4-6 times in the past 19months of ownership but no dings ever.

You know it is the headlight switch assembly bug if you hear dinging when you open the door (the car is alerting that the headlights are on) and when you look at the headlight switch no LEDs are lighted. Spin the selector switch and then rotate it back to the Auto setting. Until the next time the error occurs, the headlights will shut off as expected.

This can happen sever times in one week, or only once a month. It is strange the error isn't more consistent. It last happened to me about a month ago. Now I bet it will happen today. ?

I'm having the same issue with my 2021 Mach-e Cal Route 1. The lights stay on for several minutes and the "lights on" door alarm beeps which is annoying. If I have a control/switch to turn the lights off, I'm not aware of it. I haven't had any software over the air updates for at least two years that I'm aware of. Is this a bug that can be fixed OTA or do I have to take it into the dealer?

Hi there! Will you send us a message with your VIN and your local Ford dealer? I can look into things on my end.

Can't be fixed OTA, the headlight switch needs to be replaced. Which will require a dealer visit. There's a bulletin out for it.
