Going off of what OP said, why don't we have the option to add a key to our Apple Wallets? That seems like a no-brainer and is very secure? Other manufacturers have it so it can't be an Apple issue.
We don’t have it because we don’t have it. Just like we don’t have rock climbing mode, or powered frunk access, or air suspension, or…

Ford chose to not include the needed hardware, so all the desire in the world won’t change that.

Mach E PaaK works the same as Tesla. It was made to be familiar for Tesla owners

Tesla also requires the app. Not sure if it can be added to phone wallet

Tbh the key fob is superior; PaaK is kind of pointless unless you have a Tesla, since the Tesla “key” that you would use instead is a card that you have to press against the door pillars to unlock, and then place in a special driving spot to drive

With the Ford key fob you don’t have to do any of that, just walk up and open the door and drive, as we know. So PaaK has to beat that experience

Sure, PaaK cuts down on pocket space used, but I solve that by having an ultra thin wallet - and now, there’s no app constantly open and Bluetooth on that I have to deal with

I tried PaaK once, when I first purchased my MachE. Even with that one event, I experienced so many issues, I have not used/tried it again since.

Key fob for the win...

I'd say my PAAK is 90% with phone in pocket and black screen. Of the 10%: 5% just need to wake the phone up, 4% need to bring up the FP app on screen and 1% have to hit the unlock button on the app.

I just assumed, since I consider my car a female, you're going to get a 10% of the time attitude & refusal to cooperate.....Never considered the phone (I-phone 10) to be the issue. LOL: just a little Sunday morning levity ladies.... 😂 😂 😂

When it's raining and I need to get in, never works. If I'm just walking by the car on my way to put out the garbage? Every. Single. Time.

But seriously, for me at least, it got worse after the big Ford Pass update (redesign) like 6 months ago or whenever it was. I'm on an iPhone 14

I can honestly say I’ve never had any issues with PAAK in the 3..5 years of ownership and driving almost 100k miles. Works perfect for me with my iPhone .
Same, except I've had the car for 4.5 years. The first year PaaK was flaky, but no issues in the last 3.5 years (aside from one well-known Android security update that might have caused a problem for a few days if I hadn't been aware of it).

Well it looks like it’s hit or miss and frankly I’m tired of the experience. Hasn’t worked at all automatically all weekend and then this morning as I passed the car it lit up.

The app hadn’t been used since Sunday afternoon so if it was active it was way in the background. I’ll just carry the fob.

I suggest renaming PAAK to PITA (pain in the a$$) ☹

This thread reminds me that I should find my fob and make sure that the it still works and that the battery is still good in it. I haven't used it in over a year.

my Mach E is 5 years old, i Love my FOB, it never fails, that is until the 12v battery goes TU. Paak, on Mach E is not why i bought the car... Ford did a great job for their first stab at an EV.

Interesting that it works great for some people. Still, that doesn't change the fact that it works like crap for me. And I had the latest iPhone at one time (when I first got it). No difference.

I didn't realize until I saw the earlier post on this, but Ford actually recommends I pull the phone out of my pocket, unlock it, and open the Ford app in the foreground (that's what the app tells me as well). Brings back memories of the 90's when I thought it was so cool that I could just poke a button on a key fob to lock and unlock my car. Except that it's way clumsier than that. Going back to just carrying the fob. I am sooo tired of hitting the door button over and over.

There’s no requirement you or anyone else use or even like PAAK. There are options. That’s a good thing.

Hmmm, I don't know. It's not like "Here's a feature and if you don't like it, just don't use it." It's more like "Here's a feature and it might even work." Don't worry about me. I'm fine. I just wonder if Ford actually benefits from such a product development strategy. Maybe.

That is a really cynical take on my post. Good luck with that.
