As people come out of their 3-4 year leases & Options contracts, they’ll remember this.
I discussed the same with a friend the other day: you have a 3-year lease and have to wait 2 years for promised features. You might not even have time to enjoy the updates. What a terrible deal.

I love my MME GT but the promised improvements we were sold have not yet materialized to the extent many of us were expecting. I think these delays are most frustrating to the people who have had the MME for the longest. As people come out of their 3-4 year leases & Options contracts, they’ll remember this.
As a Job 1 owner, my next EV has a very slim chance of being a Ford. We’re passing on awesome Lightning deals because I’ve had all the ”Ford software engineers are completely useless” fun I can stomach. We decided against a 24 Mach E and are just keeping this one to be a kid car when they turn 16.

I know it's bourgeoisie to pay $500 for a J2534 interface, and $50 for a FDRS license to get "free" software updates, but I did because I'm impatient.

Looking at this thread now I forgot why I was so impatient lol.

I updated all modules so I'm definitely on the "new" Bluecruise and I can't really tell a difference. Granted I've gone on no road trips yet, but as long as you have Bluecruise 1.2 currently I can't see a huge change.

I know this wouldn't help "old" me when I was refreshing updates every day, but with the hindsight of having force upgraded I think the anticipation was the biggest excitement.

I am of the belief that you aren't on the latest version, because you have to go beyond FDRS to do it, as others have posted.

Many of us don't have 1.2 yet.

Based on initial rollout of BlueCruise, one year later than initially announced seems like the right timing. So I’m hopeful

Shouldn’t a public company like Ford be more open about software releases, delays, publish some sort of roadmap, etc.?
Just because its stock is publicly traded doesn't mean the public is owed an access to such inner workings. Yes, it would be nice but what you are asking for is VERY rare.

And my April delivery schedule for the adapter is in jeopardy.
There is no promised delivery date. Ford states "Est. ship by" and a month. So if they ship by 4/30/24, they have met the ESTIMATE.

Note that the Tesla rep at a town hearing said Ford would have Tesla Supercharging "in February". Everyone said it was BS, and on February 29th we had Tesla Supercharging.

It's going to come out before the end of Summer since that's what they said. They didn't say what year though.
I still think they will beat Summer. I’m sticking with my Spring of 2124 prediction. ??

As you are well aware, Ford, as a result of issuing stock that is publicly traded, is in fact a public company by definition. As a public company, they have things they are required to disclosed, related to their financial status.

As you're also aware, 99.99% of what this forum wants to know has nothing to do with those requirements.

That said, Ford needs to move from the "the lawyers say that if I'm in a room and pass gas, it can't have possibly been me" to a more open DIALOG with owners.

When I was talking to a Ford employee that has a great deal to do with how they communicate, I expressed my frustration. I also stated, very clearly, that IF a forum like this didn't exist, I would never have bought my Lightning based on the experience I had with my 2021 Mach-E.

I also told them that Ford's involvement in social media, which is basically limited to "send me your information" and 2 to 3 vague announcements a year, has to be stepped up.

They acknowledged that those perspectives are shared within the company, and there are efforts to move in that direction, at some point. Interestingly enough, they didn't use the word "soon"...

That's only because this year was leap year, otherwise they would have missed the deadline. ?

Nope. Didn’t realize that was the definition but do note and edited that first part. That’s weird business terminology that I didn’t realize. They may be publicly-traded but they are owned by the stockholders. They are not a public entity but a private entity. Only a lawyer could come up with such strange definitions.
