Windshield repair or replacement

Has anyone have had their windshield repaired or replaced. I've always used Safelite but last time their repare didn't take. What do you recommend to replace or repair? It just happened to my wife's 2024 Select RWD. I haven't seen the damage yet it happened when she was heading back to work from lunch. Hoping insurance can do something about. Thank you in advance for the help.

Dozens of threads on this. Most use Safelite, usually via their insurance. I pay extra for zero deductible glass coverage. 3rd windshield in my Mach-E.

No. I am saying that people contact their insurance company, the majority of which recommend Safelite to do the repairs. My insurance has Safelite handle the entire glass claim process, even if you have another shop do it.

I'm on my 2nd. My insurance company actually recommended a local company they had done business with on multiple occasions. Turned out to be a great experience. So you're right, contacting the insurance company first is a great idea.

I talked to my insurance and followed what @RickMachE said and changed my coverage for $0 deductible. I have to wait 5 days to make a claim but at least nothing out of coverage. I have 2 Mach-E's so I now have them both covered the same way.

I used Safelite to replace my windshield two months ago. It cost me $875 which included new wipers.

Same.....many insurance companies that I know of recommend the repair, if appropriate, but if that doesn't work, or fails, they should cover the subsequent cost of a replacement....

It does vary by state, though, so you should check your individual policy to see what's covered...
