Would you tow a Single Jet Ski

I have a 2021 job 1 Premium ER. I am debating of putting on a hitch so I can tow my jet ski around the San Francisco Bay Area maybe lake tahoe. DO you think it is advisable or better not to risk it.

Yes, if the whole thing weighs less than 1500 lbs and you use the Torklift hitch with the additional support brackets.

The euro versions of the mach-e are rated for towing originally the limit was 750kg to 1000kg depending on trim, later it was raised to 1500kg for 2023 models. Never understood why the USA versions never got the factory tow options maybe they expected people would want to haul much larger loads beyond just small recreational vehicle.

A jet ski would be within those weight limits, not sure how much of a range hit you get, maybe that was another reasons they did not both with the tow options on this side of the pond as people would want to tow much further distances.

Tow ratings are based on a number of factors, including pulling capability, stopping capability, and maximum safe speed while towing. Because the US doesn't have a sensible set of regulations on towing speed, the Mustang isn't rated to tow. In the EU allowed speeds while towing are lower than in the US.

About U.S. legal tow speeds: I understand that in California, legal speed limit while towing is 65 mph. So... I'm sure it is scrupulously (not) observed... at least it wasn't when I lived in SoCal in the '80s.

Not much has changed only time you tend to see slower or near 65mph towing in California is when you come across the odd RV that seems to be towing 4 homes worth of worldly possessions behind them.

Most of the time everyone else is towing at the speed of traffic. Head up the grapevine at certain times of year and it full of people towing boats and jet skis at 80mph on the way to Castaic lake.

Does the jet ski need to be backed into the water on the boat ramp where the car battery would get partially submerged?

No issues with my heavy (3500 lb) UTV trailer, or my jet ski.....

Since nobody here pulls apart the motors, you really have no idea of the impact of towing on the car. Sure, it might be fine. But, you really don't know.

And, since the car is not rated for towing, you run a risk on insurance issues.
