Just found out the following after inquiring about my stockholder X-Plan PIN that I mailed in for a couple weeks ago:

Thank you for contacting AXZ Program Headquarters. We have received your AXZ Shareholder X-Plan PIN application.
To qualify and be eligible for the X-Plan Pin prior to the program ending, we required the completed application and the Ford Stock Ownership be sent to the Shareholder Relations Vehicle Program prior to Wednesday, June 1, 2022.
We are unable to process the Shareholder PIN request due to your AXZ Shareholder X-Plan PIN application has been received after the program has officially ended.
Although the Shareholder Vehicle Discount program has ended, Ford Motor company is making sure you still get the most return possible out of your shares. The Ford+ program will help to do just that. Please feel free to explore it and all the great benefits it offers you as a Ford shareholder at www.shareholder.ford.com/investors website.
We appreciate your invested interest in Ford.

So now I'm in a pickle - I have a car showing up in a matter of weeks and I now have no availability to X-Plan the way I expected to. I bought the needed number of Ford shares in December 2021 for precisely this reason - that they'd be ready to rock by this time of the year. I am a member of the Experimental Aircraft Association which does also have X-Plan, but I only recently got that membership... their site shows that "Individuals who are EAA members in good standing will be eligible for the Plan." - it does not speak of a timeframe like the Mustang club.

I know I can generate a PIN with the EAA membership, I've signed in to the site successfully. Will my membership that started on July 10, 2022 be sufficient based on what EAA says on their site?

Answered my own question after reading the fine print. I'm screwed.

  • For membership-based companies, you must provide a membership card that indicates a 90 day membership required prior to the sale date of the vehicle. Any one of the following are accepted : Membership Card, Invoice showing customer is within good standing and is current, or Screen print of Website ( Must show full name and member since information ).

Yeah, it is a bummer, especially if it is still available through other easy means, like Mustang Club of America, makes very little sense.

You will be fine with EAA membership, if you have the pin you're good. It appears that there is no membership length requirement and I'm sure the EAA FAQ would have mentioned it. All you have to do is provide proof of your membership and the PIN. Luck you had that as a backup!

Not really, it is up to the dealer to verify this, Ford just wants the pin. If your dealer doesn't check nor care, you'll be fine. I did some Googling and found people that joined EAA due to instant PIN availability and used it the same day with no issues. Haven't found any posts, so far, of people saying their dealer rejected it.

Yes, it ended 6/30 for shareholders. Had you gotten a pin, it would have been good through the end of the year. It was posted on the forum.

It was posted a while back that ALL X-Plan programs now have the same waiting period.

My purchase date of the needed share quantity was 12/31/2021, so July 1 was the first day I'd have been eligible. Seems they singled me out. :( <--- I know they didn't, but still...

Wish I would have found this site sooner vs. the other site-that-shall-not-be-named.

Yeah, I think the shareholder thing was more a big hassle for Ford to deal with since there are easier ways to get X-Plan and someone has to do manual work to deal with it. It's a bit unfair of course to shaft shareholders, but manual work = lots more $$ wasted.

You should also check your work site and see if you qualify that way. A lot of big companies can get X-Plan and the list is really large.

Like you, I did the stock thing too, but did MCA the same time to "diversify" my risk of X-plan issues.

Update: denied with the EAA less than 90 days. They’re checking smartvincent for any incentives… might be stuck at MSRP.
