Not sure if this has been asked, there's quite a few threads out there talking about the recall and the recall of the recall? And other issues. So if t his information has already been made clear I apologize but I could not find it with a search.

Basically I know that cars produced after 5/23 were supposed to not be subject to the recall, but one thing I could not find a clear answer on is whether this was because these cars were getting just the software update that keeps the cars from bricking but still have the potentially faulty junction box, or if cars manufactured after this date have the new junction box that should not be prone to the overheating issue.

Anyone know?

We basically know (unofficially) that Ford is building its cars with the new more robust part after that date, so they shouldn't have this contactor issue.

It should be both from my understanding, however, the wrinkle in this is that that there are two revised HVJB part numbers, the B variant and the C variant.

Has to be started on 5/25 I believe. My build was started on the 24th and finished on the 25th and still needed the software fix before I took delivery last week.

The Ford recall notice, which is only the software “fix”, specifically states cars manufactured after 5/25 will have the software installed. That is why they are not part of the recall. As to the new part installation it is assumed cars built since 5/25 have it installed. I never went back and searched as to when the new part number was identified on the forum but it is discussed and you would have to assume Ford stopped installing the original part at that time.

I think a lot of assumptions are going on here. We have no verifiable information that says that production vehicles have a new improved HVBJB as of any date. Until FORD tells us that, it's an unknown, and everyone is just speculating.
