As I posted in this thread, our Mach-E was damaged in early April in a rear-end hit & run accident. Yesterday, I recorded an update video with details about the cost breakdown and some pictures of the damage and guts of the Mach-E. Spoiler alert - We don't have our Mach-E back yet, but it may be soon.

Here's the video:

Wow, that's crazy expensive for what looked like a minor incident.

Not sure how I feel about a Mach-E VLOG video without the @Liv lead in catchphrase, "Yeah, lets go!!". ? ??

Hahah I love that!
Erm hopefully you won't mind then that our next video is 60% me babbling excitedly about stuff for about 30 minutes and saying "Let's go!" about once every 5 minutes hahah

I'm curious if parts availability has been an issue in getting your car repaired? Being a new vehicle, the parts pipeline might be lagging.

Damn, that reminds me the accident I had with my Sierra a few years back!

Not sure how insurances work in the USA, but hope you don't have too many other claims in because your annual insurance premium will be going up!!!

In the tear down photos, do I see a rear pedestrian speaker that people have been saying is missing on their cars in other threads?

I think that might be a speaker circled.

It did cause some delay, but doesn't seem to be too bad. As of this morning, they have everything except the pony logo.

When you listed the ~$5k number I thought that sounded like what I'd expect. When you got to $11k I was ... surprised.

And of course none of these parts are even EV-specific parts... it's the sort of stuff you'd have to replace if any car was rear-ended.

I was surprised they listed the spoiler among things that needed to be replaced. That's way up at the top of the window. It just doesn't seem like it could possibly have been damaged and ... made me wonder if it was damaged during the repair process itself. I was thinking they had to remove every part from it to transfer to the new replacement lift-gate ... and possibly something broke while trying to remove it.

Yup, that looks just like the front speaker.....I wonder why I don't hear any sound from it since I.....lowered the sound of the front speaker.

That's what I was thinking too, especially since the glass didn't break. I'll ask when I go pick it up.

That's been the issue with getting Marlin's front end repaired. Every time they turned around they had to wait up to a week for another part. If parts hadn't been an issue I think mine would have been a 2+ week job instead of a 5-week job.

Back in the 80's I bought a Mitsubishi Galant. 6 Months later I got hit by a guy running a red light (missed me by about a foot). I ended up waiting 4 months for parts to float in from Japan. If you count the rental cost, his insurance spent $18K to fix a $12K car.
