Parts for safety recall 23S56 are now available in limited quantities (2021 and early 2022s with original HVBJB design). Please note there will be a priority system, GTs get first priority, followed by AWD, then RWD last (extended range packs only). You will be notified by mailing in waves based on the priority system. It's suggested that you wait until you get your mailing before scheduling. However, in the meantime if you get a SVS (Service Vehicle Soon) from a failing HVBJB, you should be given priority.

Please be patient as this will be quite a process to repair all the HVBJBs on 30,000 Mach-E's. Once it's your turn and you have a scheduled appointment, your dealer should order parts about a week in advance (see note below).

Dealers should order parts through the Special Service Support Center (SSSC) (5) days prior to the service appointment to ensure parts arrive in time. Refer to EFC Number: EFC14021 for additional Owner Care Plan details related to Safety Recall 23S56.
Also, there is another note about previous HVBJB replacement:

Note: 23S56 includes the same parts and procedures as contained in TSB 23-2348. Therefore, 23S56 will be closed automatically when TSB 23-2348 is, or has been, claimed.
This means that if you had your HVBJB previously replaced as part of TSB 23-2348, you will not need to get it replaced again.

Thank you for posting, Lee. Iā€™m glad that Ford is reimbursing dealers for pick up / delivery and providing us with a two day rental. If done right, this can be a seamless repair for most customers.

Do you have to arrange it with the dealer from whom you bought the car? I got my car at a little family dealership, but their service department isn't the best and I'd prefer a larger dealer whose techs have more experience. I'd rather have an experienced surgeon replacing my car's heart rather than a rookie.

You can always have your car repaired, warranty included, at any Ford dealership.

I have an appointment to replace my HVBJB on the 28th of this month. Literally at the end of the fourth quarter. Looked like my dealer planned that way. I wished I had the part replaced earlier this month, prior to my trip to Louisiana. Will see what happens.

So close, but just a tad too far away. I'm taking my 21J1 FE AWD in today for a charge port replacement. From what I understand, this requires a really extensive teardown. Meaning I'll likely get my car back just to have another extensive teardown done for the HVBJB in a month or two.

I hope this does not play out like the Chevy Bolt battery recall.

I patiently waited for my 2020 to become prioritized. As NHTSA was updated with how many vehicles remained to be remedied and my turn appeared to be coming soon, the rules of the recall were changed and my car was no longer eligible for a proactive battery replacement.

A year or two from now when the GTs are done and the AWD are almost done, will Ford and NHTSA agree to change the recall so that RWD are no longer included?

So are all 21/22 Mach E's included now (manufactured up through May 24 2022)? I was thinking before it didn't include rear wheel drive or standard range batteries.

Where is the site where I can look up my VIN again?

Inquire with your dealer to do the repairs at the same time. Nothing to loose but to ask.

May I ask what the issue was with the charge port? You can PM me rather than hijack the thread if you want - I'm going through L2 charging issues at the moment...

I donā€™t think that requires a big tear down? Also HVBJB isnā€™t too bad, just requires some special tools and time, search Weber Auto Mach-E HVBJB on YouTube and he does the whole thing by himself in a motorized wheelchair, that dude is awesome.
