Ford has announced Ford Charge; 320 Ford dealerships have opened up access to 1,200 DFC stations for public use.
Ford will offer 24/7 live support to those who need help using the charging network.
Customers can easily find Ford Charge stations through the BlueOval Charge Network for Ford customers, PlugShare, or the Shell app. These apps show charger locations, real-time availability, and pricing, making it simple for drivers to plan their routes and charging stops. While most locations are 24/7, charger availability for each specific location is clearly visible through the FordPass app, PlugShare, and the Shell app.

@Ford Motor Company should just become a member of IONNA to help fund more dedicated charging stations. Too many dealers “accidentally” block their chargers, not to mention nobody wants to get clobbered by a car salesman on the way to the restroom…assuming the dealer is even open.

LOL the dealer I use for service near my former office has something like 8 parking spaces that are for customers. I haven't a clue where that dealer can put in some DCFC so that it can be accidentally blocked. The dealer closest to home has exactly zero customer parking spaces (not that I'd ever pay the Dealership Group Who Shall Not be Named a single cent). 🤷‍♂️🐩

My dealer has two locations in Austin, and the one that is closer to our house is right off the highway, isn't the one I bought our car from, but I do all service work with that location. The main location in Austin proper I bought our 2025 Rally from in May, is moving closer to my house sometime in the future, but I still don't think I would charge our car there. The spot in front of the DCFC at the Buda, TX location doesn't have official parking spots and has been blocked by dealer inventory in the past when I came in for service, so who knows if anyone could use it or not. 🎲

I’ve used Ford dealer chargers several times on the road. There’s a good chance they’re not full. There’s a lot of new charging units that were installed in the past couple years. The prices vary a little. I‘ve never been hassled by a salesman. I’ve had them come by because I was wandering the lot but they’re usually just friendly when I tell them I’m just charging my Mach E. The bathrooms are usually pretty clean too and nobody has a problem with you using them. Definitely keeping them in my bag of tricks.

FYI, I wanted to share the 24-hour customer support phone numbers in case you have a problem charging on the Ford Charge network:
  • US Support Line: 1-888-357-1009
  • Canada Support Line: 1-888-357-1019
I did call to verify, they do have a live US-based person available to assist you if you have any issues. The phone number should also be on the charger.

Looks like currently the only way to see the Ford Charge locations on a map is to use the filter in PlugShare:

Of course you can also find them on FordPass ;)

The geographic coverage of Ford Charge is pretty awesome - especially for smaller towns and cities. I've used them extensively on my road trips.

Thanks for adding this additional information. I was hoping that we would gain some chargers in more remote areas of Western Texas, but getting extra charging options is always better, and being able to Plug and Charge is also a win! ⚡

Truck City Ford isn't interested in EVs last time I was there. At that point maybe had one tech that was EV certified. So not completely surprised 😉
