There's a guy on the Lightning forum having an issue trying to buy PTS access, too.

Seems like there is a problem with whatever Ford uses to process payments. Chances are, it is affecting the ability to buy FDRS access, as well.

Can anyone explain to me why things are different than the original procedure in this thread? I purchased the subscription but it didn’t give me a code or anything. Also can’t sign onto the program you need to download(FDRS). Just keeps saying user authentication failed.

The problem is the new version of FDRS with their cybersecurity measures is hot garbage. Many people have reported issues signing in for the first time. Some have had to revert to an older version of FDRS to be able to sign in.

so how do you download the old version? Additionally, in the original video/procedure of this it says you get a subscription key from that moto site - that’s different now, it just keeps you on the ford website, but also it doesn’t give you a key? Is that normal now vs the original post?

It's not a key anymore. The OP needs to be updated. Now it is subscription based.

I actually just got in finally. It wasn’t working, and I redownloaded it and now I’m in. But an update to the original procedure would be nice!

All of the links to the previous versions that I've posted about should be in the posts themselves, and they should still work. Would need to just scroll back up the thread to find them. Alternatively, I could probably post a copy to a share somewhere.

For anyone not able to successfully purchase a subscription, my account still won't allow me to checkout. But my friend could. No idea what the difference is, but try a diff account if you have one.

I spent two times a German 1hr license and always got the "user authorization has failed" until I actually created the key on the Motorcraftservice homepage. Afterwards it worked. Fine that they call this now subscription based, as actually within FDRS the created key is not shown anymore. But for me it was not evident that the key creation was still needed after buying a license.

Is this the same in the US?

Unfortunately also the Ford team was not helpful at all. Several emails back and forth and after 2wks only a "I would like to confirm that the team identified the issue and is working on a solution. We will be in touch once an update becomes available." A simple guidance like "create the fucking key" would have been really good.

I'm not sure. My FDRS license expired months ago before they made all these changes and I haven't used it yet since they implemented all this new stuff. Eventually, I will have to deal with this nonsense, but as of right now, I'm good with just FORScan.

Hey what’s your take on the SOBDM not being able to update via FDRS? I’m currently downloading a shit ton and can’t seem to get that one to go.

Run a self test to make absolutely sure it’s not in an error state. Sometimes after doing some updates, modules you weren’t updating go into an error state…..but FDRS still shows the modules as ‘green’ when they may be actually ‘orange’.

So I temporarily bricked my car but got out of it lol tried one last time to update it, didn’t work like the other times so I did the same cancel procedure. But for some reason this time my vehicle wouldn’t turn on, only aux power. I then just ran the same update and it finally took and updated? Anyway I got it. Hopefully now that I’ve updated all of them, I’ll finally receive OTA updates. I’m still on like 3.5.3?
