With the sheer number of 'recalls' they have for the 2025 year (155 was what I saw in the news) they are clearly riding the #Strugglebus. Their focus is clearly not actually getting to the point where they can progress the software rollouts to get people updated.

I can't say I disagree with you, but one of these 150+ recalls is the one for for the camera issue that requires the APIM to be current, so at some point, they will need to give some attention to this matter.

I wish they would provide more insight as to why they are on hold. I've have had every Sync version released to Sync 4 vehicles on my truck, and every one was an improvment over the previous version, so I am not sure what could be so bad about sending people updates where they have to leave so many vehicles in limbo.

rugedraw, I'm in the same boat as Machdiggler.

2022 GT and have owned the car since September without an OTA update. I picked up a Mongoose OBD tool and required tools. Assuming I'm able to get FDRS running, subscription and all, am I correct to assume I can update everything myself? Thanks and sorry for my ignorance.

No worries, that's why we're here. Even with FDRS, if you're not showing any updates for the Sync modules, you won't be able to get past 22228. You'll be able to update other modules, but not the ones needed to get you to a newer Sync version.

Once you get FRDS running, post a list of the modules you show with pending updates.

There's an SSM Ford released to dealers months ago that says vehicles on Sync 23187 or lower may not show more updates for Sync, but they don't say why or when it will be resolved.
My MME Sync is Ver: 24127 Rev: 1270 and Lightning is Ver: 25094 Rev: 1779 so I may have updates listed in FDRS? My MME received an IPC OTA update on 12/11 for the 1 mph issue so it appears OTA updates are still rolling out for the MME.

My Lightning has the same Sync version. It's only newer trucks that have gotten anything beyond that rev.

On the MME...it's possible you have updates available. The last time I did updates on my MME was back in October, and there's been nothing since. But if you've been relying on OTAs...well yeah...you may have something available to apply with FDRS.

Thank you for the info. I have a VCM II and last updated both the Lightning and MME back in early June. Was buying a 2 day FDRS license twice a year but with the price increase and the forums seeming to indicate that updates have been few to none, I haven't noted a good reason to buy a 2 day license. Not even sure why I received the IPC OTA when I thought the IPC update I did back in June resolved the 1 mph issue since it went away after that update.

My last OTA was in April or so of 2025. I had a boatload of outdated modules when we hooked it up this past October. That also took care of the door recall as well.

I thinks it’s been that way for a while. It has slowed my update cadence to every 6 months unless there is something critical or pressing. That critical moments happen less and less the longer you have your car. Actually doing massive updates on my ‘25 GT I just bought (right now as we speak). Included is the SW fix for the headlight recall.

I just bought my 2025 Mache 3 weeks ago and there is about 7 files to update plus that new recall for the lights which popped up last week.

After the WACM update, I'm getting the following error:
Code: U0184 - Lost Communication With Radio
I tried rebooting the WACM, ACM, and APIM modules, but no luck in clearing that DTC. It does seem like it does detect my phone, charge it, and it shows the phone charging icon on the top of the screen, so it doesn't seem like I lost functionality. It's just the DTC doesn't go away after clear and retesting.
