Yeah, that's probably it. The S and X were in that luxury class and I guess the automotive gods decided to shoehorn the 3 and Y into the same class. But there's no way they're "above" anybody on that mass market list. If anything, those two models are the poster children for mass market.
It was annoying when I first got the MachE and people thought Tesla were more luxurious, I just started saying, "oh yeah Tesla are fine, I would have gotten one if I had less money and taste"

This is great and all, but mine has been in the shop for 6 weeks now, and Ford will not even give me an update on my case # 🤷‍♂️ Things happen, but my first go round with a 21 was even worse. Just bad luck I'm sure. still love the car when I am actually driving it ;)

If you look at the article, Teslas are in the "luxury" category, while Mach-E is "mass market." Tesla is indeed at the top of their category. (Higher score than Mach-E, too.)
Tesla M3 and MY are the Toyota Corollas of the EV market.

I cross-shopped the Mach-E and the Model Y. The Y is the better vehicle from a dynamic standpoint. That said, it's f*cking ugly, inside and out. And I live in the middle of nowhere. I've got Ford dealerships everywhere. I have to travel 3 hours to a Tesla store.

I get comments everywhere about how cool or beautiful my Mach looks. No Tesla owner has ever heard that. I chose right.

At my previous job, we had a few charges installed and 90% of the cars charging were Teslas. When I got my '23 Mach in Jan, it was still a relatively rare car to see out in the wild and it was definitely the only one at work. When I would charge, practically every Tesla owner complimented me on the "cool car", and a few even said, "damn, I should've waited, didn't know these were coming out". So yeah, if looks are a purchasing consideration, it's no contest.

Bland, yes. But lacking features? If I could put the software/battery charging of a Tesla into my physical car I would do it in a second.
Physical buttons, driver display, cp/aa door handles, radar, the list can go on and on.

I don't doubt the Machs would be near the top of an ownership satifaction survey, they're great vehicles and I love mine and am very "satisfied" with my own ownership experience thus far. But no Tesla model made the list? I would never get one, but people that own them, really, really like them. I think it's a bit suspect they're absent from this list.
I agree, especially the model 3.

I guess I can sum things up by saying, when driving my car, I'm certainly not thinking, "Man, I can't wait until I'm rid of this thing". So yah, after four years, I'm probably pretty satisfied.

I really don't consider Tesla models 3 & Y luxury. They are absolutely mass market. The S and X... maybe but only because of the stupid-money-Tesla-pricing. I'd consider my '26 MME GT PE fit & finish - and definately exterior look (aggressive!!) - rates well above all Teslas.

Teslas were considered "premium" and the Mach e was not. Total BS if you ask me.

I was new to evs, 50k+ autos, and forums when I got my Mach e in May, 2022. My ownership experience/ratings would be considerably lower if I had to navigate that first year with only the dealership for support. I’m guessing this forum gives Mach es a decided advantage in ownership surveys, unless the knowledge base and willingness to help is typical of auto forums.

It was a rough first two years with my 2021 Mach-E since there were a lot of bugs to iron out. Going on year 5 of ownership and the car has been absolutely wonderful. Overall it's the best car that I've ever owned. It's a phenomenal dad car for me, dog and two kids. The wife still doesnt like it but she has her own car and can drive herself if she objects lol
