It's a shock to suddenly slow down by 15 mph for no good reason.
Especially when the flow of traffic around you doesn't. I didn't like that at all. Almost felt dangerous. Way too aggressive slow-down.

I don’t think the lock is supposed to engage with L2 chargers. I wonder what was different about that Sema charger that made it engage.
That's what I thought as well. Maybe it locks because it is a fee charger.

It could if the charger sent a signal to the car telling it to lock.
But I don't think that's part of the J1772 communication protocol. Maye the car decided to lock when it got some unknown signal from the broken station.

It’s nice to see that you didn’t have to add an extension to the ripcord. I assumed I would have to.

That could be as well.
I would ask the engineers this question. The locking mechanism should only be for DCFC but it can function for J1772 by holding down the thumb latch and prohibiting it from releasing from the car.

The car determines which connector is attached by the voltage sensor in the signal line. Less than 5 volts and it thinks you have CCS and it throws that locking pin. As far as I know, it shouldn't actuate the lock for J1772 but maybe the calibration allows that for the MME?

I have an engineer calling me today. I'll try to remember to add this.
