Anyone hear of any updates on the Ford stop ship?
My local Ford dealership store said they expect sometime in April (no exact date)

Just returned my FCCS, and ordered the Chargepoint charger. I plan to hardwire to 60 Amp breaker (electrical contractor). Kinda bummed about the Ford charger, but I also have Chargepoint stock I guess that's a win either way.

Clipper Creek. They literally let the employees try to break the unit with a baseball bat. I've never heard anything bad about them. We've had ours on the outside of our garage for about a year, used regularly with our last EV (Chevy Bolt). The MME sees it as something like "Basic AC Charging". No bells, no whistles, nothing breaks.

So, the electrician just installed the FCCS and while I can connect to it via Bluetooth for set up, it won’t join any of my networks ?
What’s the email? Phone number? Pager number? Whatever? Of the Ford Exec who’s helped people with getting their cars? ?

Why would you install one at this point? Mine was a brick within 36 hours of install.

Sunk cost. By now I would have thought Ford would have recalled them if there was an issue with the ones in the field.

Update: So, about an hour later, it finally deigned to join my 2.4 GHz network, but whined that it lost connection to “the server”. Checked in it again in the app and now “everything is awesome” as the song goes. It seems fine. No complaints about connectivity or anything.
Just a slow and frustrating setup experience.

Yes, mine had a bit of a buggy setup. A little trick a person might try is to turnoff their network server and set their phone up as a mobile hotspot using the same name and password as their shutoff 2.4 GHz network server. Going thru the FCCS setup procedure with the network and bluetooth signals coming from the phone right next to the FCCS seems to make the setup go more smoothly. Once you've made the connection, and configured the charging station, delete\change the cloned name of your phone's mobile hotspot and restart your main network server. The charge station should then connect to your main server . If it doesn't, power off the station then power it back on.

I wonder if these non-working Ford Connected Chargers are really Mach-Es that are having software/hardware problems with L2 charging problems with any brand of charger.

feels unlikely given that most people are charging AC L2 without an issue.

They're not. The affected Ford chargers just display a red error LED even when they're not plugged in to a car.

I had a Ford Connected Charge Station installed on 2/17/21 by an electrician. Has worked without problems since. So I assume the problem appears in only some of the units. I may have gotten lucky. As long as there are no safety issues, I will continue to use it.
