I have a ChargePoint Home Flex. What level 2 charger is everyone purchasing for home use? The ford connected charge station, juice box, or something else?
If you think you'll be switching between 30A and 40A on regular basis, I'd recommend the ChargePoint over the Grizzl-E. You can change the amperage on the fly though the ChargePoint app, but you'd have to take the Grizzl-E apart and adjust dip switches to change it's amperage.I'm planning on the ChargePoint Home Flex or the Grizzl-e for the ability to adjust charging speed as needed. I'm also planning on installing a 14-50r outlet for it. Thus up to 40 amps would be fair game when needed but for normal use I'd just set to 30 amps to help ensure the mains doesn't have issues with the dryer, hot tub, and a couple A/C units in the summer!
Oh man I didn't know the ford ones were recalled! I just ordered my mach e a week ago so I have time on the charger lol. Trying to learn about all of this is so overwhelming.Once I heard the Ford connect chargers were recalled, I bought the grizzl-E classic 40.
Very happy with it. A decent upgrade from the 32 amp Ford Mobile Charger.
I honestly hadn't thought of switching amperage until this point. I do have a hot tub pulling electricity so maybe I would need to? Is that the only reason I would switch between 30 and 40?If you think you'll be switching between 30A and 40A on regular basis, I'd recommend the ChargePoint over the Grizzl-E. The charger recall isn't worrisome from a safety perspective. Just disappointing in that the units were bricking themselves. It does put a check mark in the pro column for choosing plug in vs hardwired. If my CPHF has an issue I can just unplug it and return it. No need to deal with the house wiring.Oh man I didn't know the ford ones were recalled! I just ordered my mach e a week ago so I have time on the charger lol. I would just set it to 40A and leave it there unless you run into issues.I honestly hadn't thought of switching amperage until this point. I do have a hot tub pulling electricity so maybe I would need to? Is that the only reason I would switch between 30 and 40?
