Hi folks. I just registered and joined to bring up one topic: Ice blue.
One of my pet peeves in auto interiors is the use of blue LEDs. I absolutely hate them to the point that seeing them on interior photos in a car review makes me immediately eliminate the car from my list of possibilities. I know that sounds completely irrational. Now, Ford's version of blue isn't really blue, it's ice blue, and it sorta appears different and less obnoxious than the typical gaming-rig-from-the-aughts blue. So, for anyone that came from a car with a true blue LED scheme that now owns as MME, what do you think of the ice blue? Convince me that it won't make me want to scrub my retinas with sandpaper. I really want to like the MME, but this one stupid thing is standing glaringly in my way.

So change the color on the ambient. Otherwise, we can’t help you with your irrationality. But at least you admit it’s irrational.

Are you thinking that the mentioned "ice blue" is the only interior color? If so, you can choose from a variety of interior light colors including 3 shades of blue.

I think I know what you mean. Are you talking about the color on the buttons on the steering wheel and other places on the dash and door? If so, I don't think it is a huge deal. I'm not a big fan of blue LEDs - it bothers my eyes more than red or amber lights. The lights in the Mach-E haven't bothered me at all.

Here is a video I did and you can see some night driving. I had to go look to see how it looks at night. I don't think it is too bad. (It should start playing at about the 24:30 mark)

Color schemes are subject to our own personal tastes beyond the industry convention of red for danger and amber for caution. If I had my way, all the LCD screens would be black all the time, everything else would be backlit and dimmable, and we'd follow aviation standards on color-coding. But we don't so it's a good thing we can change the ambient colors>

Patrick's video might answer @MoreGooder's question, as I read it, much better than talking about ambient lighting.

True blue, does that mean Hyundai Blue that is used in most of their vehicles?

Thanks for posting that video link. It was very helpful.

I do find that blue to be just as annoying as all the others, unfortunately. I get the idea that it's supposed to keep people alert, but it's just too much for my taste. It also doesn't help that the two screens also have blue backgrounds. I noticed that the ambient red on the floor doesn't do much to mitigate the issue at all.

I think I'll wait and see what they come up with for an equivalent Lincoln version. At least the chosen color is white, which I find to be much more pleasing when turned down.

You can also change the brightness of the ambient colors. I like to keep mine down low in all cars. I thought the big screen would be a problem for me, but with the adjusted brightness and dark background, its pretty good. The center screen also has a "calm mode" so it will just be mostly dark with no info on it.
