I would suggest not to make any conclusions from "This trip", it's obviously a number calculated over a short period of time, perhaps less than a minute, not over the whole trip. "Trip 1" and "Trip 2" should be correctly indicating the average.

Or The Expanse fan.
This. With the Mach E being my new advanced mode of transportation, I wanted to name it after a vehicle from one of the many sci-fi books I've read or shows/movies I've watched. I'm a huge Expanse fan, both books and show, so the Roci won out.

If someone wants a bit more detail on the variance different legs of a road trip can have, here's a log of the charging stops for a road trip we took a few weeks ago, from our home a bit north of Denver to Las Vegas in our First Edition (AWD ER). I-70 to I-15.

Overall average miles/kWh (MPK) was 2.6. Mostly 75-80 MPH driving. Temps were usually mild, except for a few morning legs in the 30F-40F range. Most charging was at EA, but each direction had one overnight stop where we got free charging at nearby ChargePoint chargers (where we filled to 100% for the next morning).

Elevation changes made a big difference on some stretches in CO and UT, so I included that.

How do you access the trip details? I would like to read my miles/kwh I'm achieving.

One way is simply to keep track of the number on the screen for CURRENT TRIP. But it's hard to remember to do that.

What I did is used all the charging session logs in FordPass, the EA app, and the Chargepoint app to gather all my session data (start%, end%). Then I used Google Maps to measure the distance between stations. Then I had the spreadsheet calculate the miles/kWh from all that.

This is a valid method, but note that you are including charging losses in your overall efficiency this way. The number displayed by the car does not include charging losses, so it will always be higher than using your method.

Actually no. Even though I put in a column for the kWh Added too, I didn't use that in the MPK calculation. I used Battery Arrive% and Depart%'s multiplied by 88 to convert them to kWh.

MPK = Miles / (Depart kWh of the previous leg - Arrive kWh of the current).

BTW, my charging loss calculated to just over 5% difference on average. I found that to be a notable number too.

There's an app for "trip meter". You access it by clicking your profile button in the center of the top line on the sync 4. When you open that, there are 3 tabs: current trip, trip 1, and trip 2. Current trip always resets when you turn the car off, so you're better off using trip 1 or 2. Some people reset trip 1 for a particular trip with lots of stops to get the overall mi/kwh for that journey, and leave trip 2 alone (ie never reset it) so that it shows the car's lifetime efficiency

Interesting, I'm a hypermiler with gas vehicles so I'll have to see what I can do.

I did a short trip today and got 4.4 miles/KWHr. It was with several stops and top speed around 50 mph. I used the one pedal mode.

200 mile round trip to Ojai and back this weekend in our CA Rt 1. Temperatures were high 60s to mid 70s. Mostly freeway driving (about a quarter of it in 30 MPH and under traffic), a bit of mountain driving, and we ran AC at 68-70 the whole time. We averaged 4.1 mi/kWh.
