I checked earlier today and my 8/11 delivery date was unchanged....but after seeing your post, I just checked again. Mine now says 8/21. Not as drastic of a change as yours, but still heartbreaking. I'm not sure I could handle a 2+ mo slip.

But this website still shows my 8/11 date....

I had a build week for June 28th. I have not gotten any emails from Ford themselves, but did contact the dealership and I was able to get my window sticker.
My car is built just waiting for a chip.
I tracked it and I have the same eta of 10/31. It seems a little crazy that if the car is built it would take 3+ months.
I was originally told mid to end of August

I've seen a lot of posts like this. Though dealers have been telling this to many people, the chip shortage should not be a factor in MachE production, at least not for scheduled production. Many people have seen their delivery date get moved out a couple of months only to find out a few days later that it was still on the original schedule or even delivered early. I know it's not easy (mine is scheduled to be built this week), but hang in there and look forward to the day you will get to enjoy your awesome new MME!

Dealers tell folks that delays are due to a chip shortage because they know people are aware of a chip shortage and will understand that. That gets the dealer off the hook from talking to people when they don't have a real answer.

The various chip shortages are not particularly applicable to the 2021 MME's as the chips needed were ordered far in advance for the 50,000 car allocation. Delivery of those chips and other parts may be slower than expected, but there's no shortage for the MME. Second, chips are not stand-alone components. They're part of another component and aren't just that easy to drop in place on an electric car after it's assembled.

I suspect that the latest 2+ month shipping delay estimates are an overly conservative guess as to delivery date, just as the last round was.

I just learned of a fresh delay. Here is my purchase experience time-line:

2/9/21: order accepted by dealer, $500 charged to credit card.

4/15/21: email from Ford estimating production time as week of 6/7/21

6/10/21: email from Ford that car was built, estimating delivery to dealer in range 7/16/21 - 7/22/21

6/15/21: email from Ford that car is shipped, repeating delivery time estimate.

6/25/21: learned from https://palsapp.com/ that the car was delivered from Kansas City to the Muncie Ramp on that date. There have been no subsequent changes on palsapp.

7/12/21: learned, via incessant checking at Ford.com, that the new delivery estimate is 8/16/21 - 8/22/21.

From the various inside information I have heard from Ford, I am not aware of any significant impact of chip shortages on the Mach E production line. In fact, Ford recently announced they are getting the chip shortage resolved on the F-150 and Super Duty truck lines.

I suspect you are more likely running into delays resulting from the production of GTs for folks who have been long-term reservation holders. Remember that there are lots of folks awaiting GTs who placed reservations as far back as 2019. 2021 orders that are not associated with 2019-2020 reservations may slip as GT production kicks into high gear.

Remember GT Job 1 should be this week:

I thought the same and made a similar comment earlier today. The timing certainly checks out.

The strange part, though, is that some vehicles that had already begun production - some even completed with ship dates, IIRC - have been delayed to 10/31. One would think that those vehicles would either already have left the factory or already have transport scheduled and were only waiting to be loaded up and taken away.

Technically, customer GT builds started last week. I believe that qualifies as "Job 1", but perhaps it is officially marked by the date that vehicles leave the factory, which has yet to happen.

How do you know they actually began production? Do you have Vehicle Visibility reports of the car’s moving through production steps?

Well no, I certainly don't have access to all those VVRs. But we also don't know that they didn't begin production, right? :)

Here's what I know:

- My Mach-E GT was given an estimated production week of 7/4. And, at least one other forum member was given an estimated production week of 7/4.

- My Mach-E GT was updated last week with a Production Date of 7/7. And, as least a dozen other Mach-E GTs were updated last week with Production Dates in the week of 7/4.

- My Mach-E GT was updated last week with an ETA of 8/20. And, at least a dozen other Mach-E GTs were updated last week with ETAs 8/12 or later.

Strictly speaking, you're absolutely correct - I don't know they began production. All I have is the data above. I am here to humbly share what I know, and to learn from others. And I certainly don't want to mislead anyone. So if the data above leaves room for doubt, well then, I apologize.

By the last comment about an ETA of 8/20 do you mean a production ETA or delivery ETA of 8/20?

goog point I think, but you would think that that run would have been factored in to the rest of the schedule a while back. These 10/31 notices seem out of nowhere, but maybe they just got backed up and the Gt older reservations are now cue'ed up. I hope that doesn't slip.

Thanks for the link to that site. It shows mine was built on Friday 7/16 and has an ETA of 8/17. That would be awesome. I was resigned to an October delivery with all the supply chain issues.
