“First Edition” is a limited trim level. Yes, it’s worth getting that if you go Grabber Blue (only available on FEs and GTs).A friend of mine just got a Mach-E (long story!). But, it has got me thinking.
As this is Ford's first edition electric Mustang, is it worth it or wait? Merely curious if the volume of issues that people talk about, out weigh the 'joy' and 'functionality' of the Mach-E?
Thanks
Assume you are referring to first year model. Yes, it’s awesome, as long as you can tolerate the bugs. Chief bugs I’ve experienced:
- DCFC and “Plug & Charge” problems are mostly worked out now.
- Most driver instrument panels buzz like a cheap TV. Unknown whether newer builds are sourcing a better screen yet. It may not bother you.
- PAAK works ok, but still pretty buggy. You may not even use it.
- Sync works ok, but it is buggy and laggy. Most of the bugs are minor. It’s going to depend upon how annoyed you get by minor bugs that Ford should have fixed by now.
- FordPass isn’t great, but it’s serviceable. Not a reason to hold off buying the car.
- There is troublesome bug with certain doors not automatically unlocking upon approach until you first open a different door. The problem seems to move around and not everyone has it. It is probably the weirdest bug to date. Very annoying, but you may not even experience it.
Everything else you’re seeing here is EXTREMELY RARE STUFF you could experience with any new vehicle.
The real question is, with supply issues and prices going through the roof, whether it is worth it to buy a new car or wait for next year. I was lucky to grab mine at xplan off the lot back in March. And I don’t regret that a bit.
