Picking up my car Friday. What do I need to know?

Hello Everyone,

I am picking up my MME this Friday and I can't wait! I know there is this list already created

but is there anything I should be aware of before I go to the dealership? The dealership told me to download the FordPass app, which I did, but is there anything else I can do before Friday that will make the pickup of the car easier/quick?

If you’re getting X-Plan pricing, make sure you have your PIN and your membership information for the X-Plan partner. If you’re not going to use PaaK, make sure your dealer has a second key for you and that it’s programmed.

I have the Xplan paperwork ready to go and a copy of my latest pay stub to verify that I still work for my employer. About the 2nd key fob. Is this something that dealerships are offering? I've read mixed reviews on this site saying most won't do it but then others will.

AFAIK, most dealers are not offering a second key free of charge.

It doesn’t hurt to ask! Our dealer has promised to provide one for us at no extra charge but nothing but excuses so far! I will keep bugging them until they cough one up!!

State your knowledge about PaaK not being flawless and ask for an additional key. Don't have any expectations of them saying yes but just asking wont hurt.

Very true, guys. It doesn't hurt to ask! I will message my salesman now and see what he says. If it's a no I can bring it up again on Friday.

See if you can get a copy of the full purchase paperwork sent to you in advance. It will help make sure they don't sneak in charges.

Found a good pickup inspection checklist here I think from Chasing Coral. Helped as it kept me focused and less excited. Ditto on X Plan. I had asked months in advance for a free second fob due to PaaK issues and my dealer provided it. Of course ensure there are no BS addons like VIN etching or something like that. Have them set up your Fordpass while you are there. Have them show you that they have updated all software to current version. Do not be afraid to not close the deal if everything is not 100%.

If it's not charged fully you get 250 kWh free from Ford and EA for fast charging on PaC.

You get that 250 kWh regardless. make sure it’s fully charged.

Agreed mine tried to sneak in charges like window etching for security purpose, financing through chase at 3.49% instead of Ford financing at .9% and doc fee's of $390 even though my X-Plan capped them at $100. they refunding me the doc fee difference and removed the cost for glass etching. They changed the financing to Ford after I refused the chase finance but had to wait while they redid all the paperwork. Ugh!
