So I'm looking at the MME and one thing that intrigues me is the glass roof. I had an 83 Camaro that had T-Tops. Loved it. I had a Cavalier with a sunroof - that puppy was never closed. So why all the hate on the pano roof? Is there something I'm missing? Anything that gives me a "top down" feeling gets me excited. All I can think of is people in really hot climates don't care for it due to lack of shade? In Michigan, I try to soak up as much sun as I can! :D Any thoughts? Is the pano roof something I'd like or would I regret it?

Me and my Wife love the Pano Roof! She would like it even better if it opened!

If you are the driver, it is almost invisible to you. My wife does not like it - she wishes it had a shade. I wish I had the view from the back seat of all that sky.

If you like sunlight on your head while driving, you should go for it. I prefer shade inside a car. People say the heat from the glass roof is not bad, so for me the sunlight would be the big annoyance.

We don't hate it, but for the driver and front passenger, it has little benefit.

Pano sunroofs, i.e. the ones that move, I would never get on any vehicle. They leak, they make noise, and then they break (i.e. tracks, motors). I would never pay for one, and I will never buy a vehicle with a moving one unless I decide to switch to changing vehicles while they're still in warranty.

Knowing what I know now, if I could have bought a premium without the pano roof I would have. I knew from the start my kids would love it, but from the front seat you're craning you neck if you want to see the sky. That being said I've never felt I needed a shade for it. It's dark enough that glare isn't an issue. You'll get a little heat from the mid-day sun but nothing like what comes through the side windows or windshield, or a regular sunroof for that matter.

Every vehicle I have bought since 2011, 6 to be exact, have had either a sunroof or pano roof. Every vehicle’s sun shade also stays closed 98% of the time because of where I live. I didn’t seek this option. It just comes with the vehicles I wanted. Also, I NEVER had any issues with them leaking or breaking. All but 2 were Fords.

It's a fad that deserves to die. No functional benefit and a potential liability... they break.

Keep the big sheet of glass, give us proper programming.

The pano roof is really nice, but it’s not functional for a lot of people. The fact that you can’t bear load on it is crap, and there is no option for premium to come without the roof. I love my MME but I wish I could put a roof rack on it and not be paranoid that I will crack the roof.

I love it. I do not love typical sun roofs because they are hot and too bright during the day. I keep them closed 90% of the time.

This pano glass roof is not. Not heat or bright sun. I agree the driver does not benefit as much as the back seat but it gives the car a more open feel to it. The back seat view is amazing.

Great view, no additional heat, no glaring sun. I have a premium that I am trading for a GT and I liked the glass roof enough to order it for my GT.

This is my first pano roof, and yes, as the driver, it's not very dramatic ... and maybe it's my imagination, but after driving my Bolt for years with no sunroof at all, I swear the cabin just feels more open to me. I live in Memphis, where the sun basically sits about 2 feet above my head at all times, and I haven't been bothered by sunlight coming through the roof. My wife leaves cover of the sunroof on her Kona closed at all times, but when I drive it, I like to open it up. Maybe I'm just a bit claustrophobic :)

My passengers are wowed by it though. When you first get in, it really is a sight to behold. It's not something I'll demand on future cars, but I would really want it.

Glass roofs offer more headroom and a brighter interior.
