Yeah, I'm guessing this particular TSB originally came from Europe. It refers to "public charging or wallbox". Although Wallbox is a brand, the term is also commonly used in Europe to refer to any home charger. Nobody really says that in the US.
Yeah, and the use of the word "whilst" kind of gave it away for me as having been written by someone not educated in the United States.
Did your dealer tell you that?
I did have to provide the TSB number to them as they weren't aware of it (I also gave them the link to this thread for context) but the service notes show they were able to replicate the high fan noise and then applied the updates. No pushback at all.
Negative. The TSB is not listed to dealers in North American dealer publications. (No dealer in the US will ever see that TSB listed for Mach E)The op codes listed are not NA op codes. It is not written in NA TSB format.
So what did @ericNdfw have done to his car? Is there a crossover bulletin for US vehicles? Or just similar software without an associated buletin?
Most likely could be similar software. No associated bulletin in NA. It's great his dealer put in all available software updates, but could also be a coincidence that the required fan speed was lower in video due to cooling demand being lower for other reasons. Unfortunately if the dealer puts on their RO that they updated per that TSB # provided, Ford Warranty won't pay the dealer for that work since the TSB isn't applicable to NA. Sucks for that dealer.
Extremely unlikely that the lower fan speed was due to some coincidence. I have never had my fan this quiet in the two months I’ve owned it and we are experiencing the highest ambient temps of the year right now.
