If this is your first EV have you considered "electrifying" other things?

If you've had a plug-in for a while have you fully converted to electric?

Yeah I know "What are you talking about?"

When I first got the Focus Electric I also ditched the gas lawn mower, gas snow blower, gas leaf blower, etc. I'm now on my 2nd battery mower (first one used lead-acid batteries--it was a beast to push around). My battery mower and battery snow thrower use the same batteries so I have a bunch of those.

I even upgraded the bike....

Or maybe the ELF (hybrid pedal-electric-solar trike)?

All my lawn equipment except my leaf blower.

Just replaced my gas push mower with a 60volt greenworks brushless mower. So far I love it, so quiet and easy to store vertically.

Aside from a few yard tools, I've started looking at some of the electrified bikes/scooters/3-wheelers as well as began research into EV conversion kits. I'll need a bigger garage before anything actually comes from it though :(

Hi Mark, is it nosy of me to ask what your screen name stands for? Whenever I see it, I always think about something to do with saltwater fish aquariums and keeping reef corals. ?

We have a Fusion Energi, but my bike is still human powered until I can't make it up hills anymore - although my wife wants an E-Bike so she can ride with me. I have an electric edger and small chain saw, and my next mower and blower are going to be electric. Would be nice if they start making those with L2 charging and a proper connector for those of us who are getting EV's.

I don’t currently have any other electrified vehicles, but I am looking at also buying a 2021 minivan for hauling the whole family around (need the third row). The main hybrid options are the Chrysler Pacifica (a plugin) and Toyota Sienna (non-plugin).

The Pacifica is the only plugin 3-row family vehicle in existence and also gets better range than most plugin hybrids (33 miles EPA): enough to do our daily work commute without ever using gas. This is also interesting since only plugins qualify for the $7,500 tax credit and I already need to hire an electrician for the Mach-E so might as well put two chargers in (or just share one since I won’t need to plug in the mach-E every day). The downside is that the Chrysler hybrid system’s reliability has not been good since that design launched in 2017. I have heard of many reported quality issues. It seems pretty tacked-on and not really implemented very well. If anyone has any experience with the Pacifica Hybrid, let me know.

The Toyota seems like the safer option, but is still basically a gas burner; but has efficiency ratings more like a small car instead of a hulking people mover. Sadly, doesn’t qualify for tax credits. The car only comes as a hybrid (was designed ground up to be one) and Toyota is very experienced with Pure Hybrid systems and has proven reliability and optimizations. It is the most efficient for long road trips because of this.

Also, I have an electric, robotic lawnmower (Husqvarna Automower). If I can just find an electric snowblower, then I won’t need to buy gas any longer.

I have 10 acres of land. Electric versions of any landscaping equipment don't work well nor last long, especially on the Kikuyu grass.

e-bikes can either simply assist or power. I pedal mine a good 80-90% of the time ;)

Ryobi makes an electric snowblower.

All my yard tools are electric. Only when the grass shoots up on me do I have any issues, but that's mainly due to us keeping the same lawn mower from our previous home which had a much smaller lawn.

Also added a heat pump to our home so the furnace only comes on when the weather drops below 30F, which is not often in the Seattle area.

If I am peddling, I want the lightest bike possible. A few weekends ago I rode 40 miles on one ride, and I'm not sure I want to be hauling around batteries and a heavier bike. I'm heavy enough to begin with!
