GT Mach-E MagneRide suspension -- can you owners comment on the suspension of the regular GT? Especially vs Premium ME?

Anyone that has picked up the GT, can you comment on the suspension of the regular GT? Especially if you may have also driven the Premium ME.

My perception of rides comes from my existing two vehicles - 2013 Jeep Wrangler, 2021 RAM 1500. The Jeep is what you would expect it to be - a marginal ride. The RAM is surprisingly an excellent ride.

So I have driven the Premium just before I ordered my GT (so 4-5 months ago). As I seem to recall it wasn't a bad ride but it was no luxury smooth one either. It was acceptable to me. Better than Jeep but not as good as the RAM.

Driving my GT I can say the ride seems similar to the Premium. I actually wondered if the magnetic suspension would have been worth it. In my opinion, the GT ride is about the same but neither of them is a luxury ride (IMHO).

Thanks for the comment about the suspension above. I read a couple recent reviews of the regular Mustang mach editions, that basically said the magnaride they had was more effort to control than it was worth, in summary. I do find the Premium ME to be a bit jumpy on rough terrain.

Even in MagneRide’s softest street setting, the Mach 1 borders on being a chore to drive. The tires want to follow every groove, patch and contour in the pavement, and its heavy aluminum-alloy wheels (compared to the GT350's carbon fiber rollers) bring a heck of a lot of momentum to the situation. This results in the steering wheel being aggressively yanked around by every tarmac imperfection. Add some rain to the mix and an even mildly worn road surface offers more hazards than a championship golf course. Frankly, it’s exhausting.

What I can say is, "does the GT want to go fast and take corners" - yes! Is it a soft cushy ride, no. Kind of reminds me of my previous 2001 Corvette. The ride is stiffer, less cushy, but wants to be let loose to run.

I had heard this before but it was typically attributed to the excessively large section front tires, not the suspension. Has that viewpoint changed? Or is the author just not understanding the concept of tramlining?

It does! I don't like soft and cushy so sounds like this is a win.

That excerpt from the autoblog article just reinforces the mission of the Mach 1. It. Is. A. Track. Monster. Ford even stated that it is practically as dedicated to track performance as the GT350 is/was. It has suspension and cooling from the 350 and 500 and it is rolling on steamroller Sport Cup 2 track ready tires. 305s up front for goodness sake. At least on the Handling Pack option. To complain about tramlining on road imperfections is just ridiculous given the car’s mission.

The Premium 4X rides pretty well over rough city streets. Not as comfy as some but certainly not as stiff and chattery as a Tesla Model Y. I'm hoping the GT is not any worse than the Model Y. Have you driven a MY and if so, can you make any sort of comparison?

Any Air Ride equipped vehicle with ride a lot smoother than any other type of suspension.
