One of the problems is there's so much speculation within 4 days of initial results on one single car.

It would be great to get on the track again - but for me in Iowa, "local" tracks (a) hard to arrive fully charged and (b) private rental is $2K, so have to wait until I can fit in on test time in the next couple of weeks.

Or of course, if Ford wants to pay for that private track rental, I'd take a day off for that! :)

Let’s get this gentleman a gofundme campaign, or onlyfans account, to fund further track testing

My build was delayed a week, so I have extra time to make a final decision, if only I can get some more data… not sure what I’d go with as an alternate - probably back to ICE

Technical specs are a big part of the fun to me for any car over $60k with “performance” or “competition” branding. I believed all the major performance talk from Ford.

keeping some perspective though, I still think OP’s car beats everthing on looks, and even the “bad” numbers are fast for casual drivers.

Also, Tesla improved performance through software updates alone, so maybe there’s potential for prompt improvements for the mach e.

For real though. 500 1/4 mile pass minimum to be able to have a valid opinion here.
I think you failed to comprehend the response. Read it again. I only cited my 1/4 passes as a reason I had interest in the thread to begin with. After I was informed that I should leave said thread since I don’t even have a GT in order. Never once said anything about any requirements for valid opinions, that’s your statement.

The reference is to a bone stock 2.0T Accord being faster than a GTPE on a roll. And the ongoing internet meme of “but an Accord V6 is faster” on countless forums and web article comments. Mods are a different story for sure.

See pic. Stage 2 Ron Watson pro tuned, bolt ons and E60. 1.65 60fts on moderately hard 4.5K launch. 12.0s@115+ mph. Stock internals 2.0T FA motor.

He got you bro. It took 21 pages, but he got you to admit your undying love of the 2.0T

As far as Frankie goes, I think the thing that's annoying the shit out of me right now is he's holding up a delivered GTPE because of this stupidass 100mph trap speed bullshit.

Either buy it or let someone else buy it. If you think the AWD is doing 104+mph trap speed and Ford limited the GT to a 100mph trap speed, and you're going to be all butt hurt over it, then walk away and let someone else have some fun in the car.

Otherwise, like most have said here, the logic doesn't follow that Ford would make the GT slower in the 1/4 mile than the regular AWD.

And then there's the whole thing of who's railing their car 90-110mph on a regular basis? I'm not saying it shouldn't be fast even at those speeds, but 0-80 is way more important if you're looking at a fast car. With the exception of a car that is an actual track specific car in your garage.

Again, I'm not excusing a bad run and saying it's ok, but I'm also looking at what we do in real life. This is 21 pages of pretty much people going on and on and on and on about a 100mph trap speed.

I'm sure you just tell people it's your sons car so you don't have to admit how much faster it is on the top end than your GT500.

Thank you all for 21 pages of effluence to fill my lunch hour! While I am by no means an expert in ANY of the subjects alluded to here in this thread, I am an experienced auto and motorcycle speed addict.
As noted in my avatar, I have spent my share of weekends at drag strips and road courses all along the north east in my long lost youth.

Hopefully you all will someday realize we are talking about a 4800lb SUV with electrons for fuel designed to carry the wife and kiddies to the mall and occasional soccer games.

When Ford announced the specs for the GT and the GTPE, they only listed 0-60 times and EPA range, makes you wonder doesn't it!

I personally doubt Ford will ever "Officially" market 1/4 mile times since this is not considered important to them versus the daily use the vehicle will most likely experience.

Me personally, I am looking forward to my Premium AWD4x in the hopefully not to distant future. Will it hit the track? probably once just for giggles but only because I do miss the fun.

Tony

I work in IT, I've typed untold amounts of notes in tickets. Currently working on a server that completely died and have two days of ticket notes to fill in. I'd rather be worrying about the server than thinking about the notes I have to do now lol

Ford have in the past messing up with performance versions under performing initially and fixing later (looking at you mk2 focus RS)

Explain to me how that is. I didn’t report him. I just stooped to his level with the ongoing 2.0T comment. If someone tells me to leave a forum because of whatever reason you better damn well believe I’ll invite them to do the same.
It has nothing to do with him, or this thread.

No, I'm not.

Go ahead and tell me what to do with the reservation I made nearly 2 years ago though.

Gonna get fun in here if another GTPE goes to the strip and it's still not much over 100mph! Haha. Generally though I somehow figure that Ford was planning/trying to beat Y Performances with this thing on some variety of track...just not sure what efforts they put into getting drag time optimized? Will be interesting to hear what they tell the media if they tend to suspect it's not quite keeping up with a Y Performance at the drag strip as I suspect they know already whether it should or not.
