Today is 11 weeks since I ordered and I'm either 1 of 2 of the next special orders that should get picked up from my dealer. Build weeks that are going out now would definitely have to be after October right? So I'll likely have my 2021 being built along side some 2022s, and then may take delivery of the 2021 sometime in early/ mid 2022?

I've never ordered a car and honestly if I'd have known that the dealer you order from could make a huge difference on when the order gets picked up by Ford I'd have done a lot more home work on which dealer to choose when completing my order.

There is a Premium Carbonized Gray AWD EXT available NOW at Weikert Ford in Lake Wales. My Wife ordered it but we found another one and they refunded our deposit.

I sent them a message, not sure if it is still there or if they're trying to bank on the vehicle.

They were going to sell it to us for MSRP, so they might negotiate??
Response I got from them:

HI Not Will,

Thank you for your response.

That vehicle does have a market adjustment and is listed at $59,990. I'm including the link below...

so I guess $3,600 $3,500 over what is listed for MSRP on that config right now. I'm good, I'll wait. Already waited this long.

My Response to them:

No thanks, I've got a different model on order with a different dealer and they are only charging MSRP + options + destination + modest dealer fee. Please feel free to remove (my email) from any future marketing campaigns.
Them:

Yes, that's what we are doing for customers who have placed an order on vehicles. I will remove your email address. If there's anything else you need or you don't feel like waiting, please don't hesitate to reach out.
I get the supply and demand aspect of this, but I don't feel like Ford benefits from this model as much as they're letting on.

Like I should not have had to choose the dealership for my order without the knowledge of - oh that dealer, yeah they will get to have allotment of 2 cars in 6 months... or whatever that is.

All it is doing is making people stare at the company and say, why are you doing it this way?

If Ford was smart they would have done the dealership picking in some kind of round robin for their dealerships, worked out whatever they wanted to with that dealership on the backend, inspection charging etc and transport this vehicle to my house. Let me do all the financing / options etc online and just give me info about my nearest dealerships or even have one of those nearest dealerships call me as a follow up after delivery. This would make Ford as a whole look like a champ, not this dealer vs that dealer.

I don't want a Tesla but from what I've read about that process it is a model that Ford could ape and really benefit from for their optics... especially if they are really planning on moving to less of an inventory model.

Rant over, grumpy out.

Oh well, they have only had it for a few days so we will see how long it sits on their lot? I am going to drive by there today, expecting to see it sitting out by the charger. We are happy with the deal we got from Bill Jarrett Ford in Avon Park!!

I bet it's sold in a week or less. People willing to pay ADM are in no short supply.

My grumpiness has started increasing this week as I had to start commuting again. It's funny how I've been perfectly happy driving a 22 year old stick shift SUV that gets 15-18 mpg until I ordered the Mach-E. Now the car is old and gross and the warts stick out more. To rub it in, there a couple Mach-Es that share some of my route.

Serenity now...

This may…MAY…be my last post to the grumpy thread. The dealership called with the usual good news/bad news setup.

Good news: My Mach-E arrived at the dealership this morning.

Bad news: Being a holiday, the service department is out and can’t do the prep work, so I can’t pick it up today.

Worse news: My day tomorrow is slammed and I can’t pick it up. Wednesday afternoon is the soonest I can go.

So, unless there’s something weird that happens at pickup, I can finally bid this thread adieu!

That is a little funny. My car is a little older than yours, and I still love it. Even when the Mustang comes, I'm not sure I'll be able to let it go.
