My ETA has gone from 11/21-11/27, to 1/3-1/9, and now to 12/28-1/3.

Meanwhile, my car still shows as ‘on hold’ via United Road tracking, and this morning I asked my sales rep if he had any updates via VVR, and he said “nothing yet.”

The dealer I checked with for the Ionic 5 is looking for ADM, so I’m still ‘circling the airport,’ so to speak.

Just having a little clarity would help, as @Ford Motor Company ETAs seem to be nothing more than pie in the sky.
The "on hold" status in United Road was on my order even before it left Mexico. So I'm sure it has nothing to do with any recall.

The GV60 is sweeeeet looking. I really wanted a G70 when I was in the market but they wouldn't negotiate much so I bought another Infiniti Q Red Sport.

how do you find the ETron ? Which variant is that? Audi has so many suffixes and prefixes for the ETron that it gets confusing
It’s the middle trim. With the black optik package it looks better than those with the chrome grille. It’s not the prestige with the HUD, massage seats, etc. I think they’ve added an s line for 2022.

Other than some recent nagging regret when I saw a MME GTPE in the wild that was identical to the one I was going to buy, I really like the interior and the ride - but you take a decent range hit v MME.

It has an 8 second boost, so it can move OK, but not like a GTPE or even a GT. Yeah, the regret is nagging…?. Eh, 2024 is right around the corner when they launch a Shelby version. ?

Thanks…it’s actually a Hyundai, but at this point looking like I’ll be waiting for my Mach-E. While it’s a nice car with great features, the dealer never called, so I’m guessing they won’t sell without ADM. Since my reason for waiting for the MME was to avoid ADM and get the exact colors/features I wanted, I’m going to wait, especially since Ford shortened my ETA. I just hope it’s based in reality!
they built mine on time but shipping was 6 weeks. worth it though

no drivers to take from rail yard to dealer. took 3 weeks.... trucking companies are short handed

Here in MA, my dealer has been receiving 2-5 truckloads a week, based on tracking via United Road. About 2-3 of those loads are from the rail yard in Ayer where my car sits. Just yesterday they received an F-150 from the same lot, while mine stayed out. It doesn’t make any sense to me!

What principle?

"MSRP is sacred, while MSRP+$5k is the embodiment of Satan"?
Principle also has a variety of possible meanings as a noun. These include “a general or fundamental truth,” “a governing law of conduct,” and “underlying or basic quality that motivates behavior or other activities” (as in “such principles of human nature as greed and curiosity”).

I found one that was 'unspoken for,' but they're ADMing it, so I'm waiting for my MME.
Let me get this straight....you are a couple of days from delivery and are willing to walk away from this for a different car that may get delivered later - possibly much later - because the the first car is late?

Mine spent 7 1/2 weeks on chip hold in Mexico, disappeared into the shipping black hole, got stuck at a train yard 3 miles from the dealer with no confirmed delivery date and showed up eventually. My opinion is that it was well worth the wait. I'm just trying to understand your logic.

Just test drove the Ioniq 5 at the Puente Hills dealership. I will say it is an extremely smooth ride compared to my MME. We’re looking at it for my wife and it’s definitely taken the lead over the Q4 etron whenever that comes out. However, the one big thing I hated was the dealership said there was an ADM. I asked how much and he tried to low ball it saying for the Kona it’s $8600. I then asked if they had sold an Ioniq 5 yet and for how much. They sold one yesterday and it was $11k over MSRP. That wasn’t even for the limited trim. Keeping that in mind I think it’s going to be pretty common for Hyundai dealerships to include an ADM because they know the demand is there.

Markup with my local dealer, too. How to prevent them from happening? Get impatient people with deep pockets to stop paying them!

Exactly. They know the demand will be there with an initial low supply. So everything on their side. I contacted another dealer and they told me their SE and SEL won’t have any mark ups. But for the limited since they have 43 reservations while only being allocated 3 they’re going to include a mark up.

Amazing how dealer markup are becoming the norm and consumers are giving into the practice. When I was looking around for a MME on lots, I contacted a dealer the next town over. Before we could even talk about it the disclaimer of a 5K markup was mentioned. That was the end of our conversation. I was able to find the same MME on a lot a little further away, and also enjoyed a $2500 dealer rebate and $500 manager rebate. Was dealing at end of month and dealer had a couple dozen on the lot. I would have bought one half way across the country for the $8K difference! So, shop around. EV's arent exactly flying off the shelves, but the short supply will keep the prices and gouging high. This will also change when more EV's hit the market and volume increases. Also beware that many state incentives may be based on purchase price, so that along with federal incentive eligibility should be considered.

It's amazing that everyone is in favor of the "free market economy" as long it benefits them. It's also amazing how no one mentions gas stations, grocery stores, restaurants, or any other businesses that change their prices based on market dynamics. I'm not sure why the law of supply and demand isn't supposed to apply to car dealers?

Car dealers have taken a huge sales hit in the last 2 years from limited inventory and yet their fixed expenses have not changed. So what precisely are they supposed to do to stay in business?

How to stay in business if people didn't cave and pay ADMs? Adapt.

That's what I had to do when I was in business for myself and everything dried up in the aftermath of 9/11. I had to hustle, lower prices, and do whatever I could to keep it running.

Dealers have other sources of income that go beyond just selling new and used cars, such as service. Run promotions, etc. to get people in the door, anything to increase income. Adapting to market shifts are part of being in business.
