what do you *like* about it?

Every time I get one here and see someone say how much better the Y is than Mach-E, I look left and see it’s your comment.

no one knows what one is cheaper to own, because no one owns one yet.

Correct me if I’m wrong, buy in most states they are equal price to register.

$7,500 help make it cheaper for most.

The frunk has a drank plug.

The extended glass roof for more headroom.

the center console is not glossy black, fingerprints all the time.

hands-free tailgate

Doors have a frame around the glass. A lot of tesla have problems with windows not being up before closing and making marks in the paint or hurting the rubber trim.

The ambient lighting effects.

Speed display in front of you

looks better. doesn't look like Jethro catching a catfish.

From what I have heard the seats are way better, more comfort than a tesla. Like a big difference.

keyless enter pad.

the door opens a little for you, easier to get in if hands are full.

more and more, just what I can think of now
Lidar! Mach E has it, Teslas don’t. The new E-TRON doesn’t either. Chevy Super cruise uses it. The next E-TRON will. Everyone except Elon and a few companies that don’t sell Lidar insists that Lidar is necessary for Level 3-5 Driving Automation. Lidar has been miniaturized to a slim beer can size and less than $500 dollars... Just like Hydrogen, it just needs innovation and vision. Unfortunately, it doesn’t jive with the narrative since all Teslas were allegedly Full Self Driving capable for years now, and thus admitting they need Lidar would incur substantial cost to refit and incorporate.

BTW: Do a search for sugar to hydrogen and sugar hydrogen storage for info on how hydrogen‘s Achilles heels can be addressed cheaply and safely.

And that's what actually matters -- to each buyer. For you it may not be, but for many others it is.

Want something other than white?... then it's different.
Wanna buy one outside the US without the $7500 tax credit?... then it's different.
Can't do your charging mostly at home?... then it's different.

What most of the thread shows me is that for a US buyer, the price is so close between the two that it's negligible. I don't think there's many buyers paying $50k-60k for a car that are gonna decide based on $500 one way or the other. It's mostly gonna be personal preference for looks and features.
Good Example: Any Hawaii MME customers. There are no supercharger stations here. That takes away one point from tesla right off the bat. And it varies everywhere and for everyone. There is no wrong answer, there's only your answer.

Oh, another couple:

1. You don't need to worry about losing your friends because you berate them for not understanding the "genius" of opening the door with a button instead of what appears to be a normal door mechanism!

2. If you have an issue with your vehicle you can complain about it without having to go into witness protection!
THAT is funny!

GM and Ford are relying on the vehicles to have access to high definition maps which are combined with GPS, radar, ultrasonic sensors, and driver monitoring to enable hands free driving on approved roadways.

Neither of them are shipping cars with LiDAR to consumers. The slashgear article could have worded it more clearly. Instead, vehicles equipped with LiDAR are used to generate and update the HD maps.

I don't think Ford has marketed SAE automation levels for the Mach-E. I don't think they'd want to do that, but I guess we'll see. I don't expect the 2021 MME will ever exceed "level 2 automation."

I'll start;
  • More options: RWD/AWD, long range/standard range, select/premium/California Rt1/GT
  • Dashboard display
  • Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
  • Wireless Apple CarPlay & Android Auto
  • Real buttons where you need them
  • Support from local dealers located everywhere
  • $7,500 Federal tax credit
100% agree on the buttons! That was the first thing I said that I didn’t like about the Tesla.

I fail to see why you are even considering a Mustang Mach-E ,the Model 3 obviously fits your needs much better.

I agree, the pricing doesn't sway me one way or the other. Looking at price alone, I could see the advantage going either way depending on your situation or needs.

Public charging for me, doesn't matter, I'm not going to take it anywhere I cannot charge overnight. I suppose if I was budget conscious I would go with the select (almost forgot that had that trim!), But I want nice things, comfy seats, nice ride, a little speed (nothing crazy), and a well built vehicle. Hopefully my MME will deliver that for me!

This why the comment was made elsewhere that these decisions about which vehicle are individual decisions. There is no right answer, just your answer. He likes the MME. Good enough.
