:) Well, count yourself lucky.
DW thinks I'm having (another) mid-life crisis and need a toy. LoL
I'm hoping when she drives it (plus magnaride) she will like it.
However, she was afraid of my last sportscar (G37, 328hp 0-60 5.4s),
so she is in for a shock. I think Ill keep it in whisper mode for her.
I would have done it most likely. I do love my GT though. I sold a G37 IPL to move into the GT. Loved that car. It was my favrorite car of all time before the GT. It is close, but the GT wins out. If Infiniti would bring to market a coupe BEV I would have to look at it. I am sure the wife would take the GT! She loves driving it.

@Davedough said he isn’t dissatisfied. Really?? ?? I love my GT-PE. Of course there are things that could be better. I love the Magneride. The car handles well. The car’s low-end acceleration is pretty nutz. ??

Same as Dave, I have not driven a GT. I went for the PE because I felt the Magneride was worth the difference in price. I think you will love the PE. ??

We went with the regular GT because we didn't want to deal with swapping out the tires, the funky seats, or the shorter range. It is for my wife - I would have went GT PE!

yeah that tire issue is very real, I swapped out rims & tires twice a yr with my old G37.
Once one set wore down, I migrated to all seasons and sold the second set of rims. I might do that again, but I have a nicer + bigger garage now, so it shouldn't be as much of a pain.

I guess the advantage of living in an area that gets almost no snow and is always warm is that I probably don’t need to worry about the tires. The disadvantage is that we are always in drought conditions. ?‍♂?

I went to check on my Sept 6th online order for 2022 GT (build date 1/10/2022) which
was converted to a 2022. They had a cancellation on
a 2021 GT PE arriving between 1/28/2022 and 2/5/2022.
I was asked if I wanted the arriving GT PE - same color and options as my order, I just had to
pay the additional $5,000 for the performance package. There was to be no ADM on my original
online order, and there is no ADM on the incoming GT PE.

One strong selling point on all this is that zero percent financing is still available. I was
worried that if my original order took 2-3 more months to arrive, rates might be up
due to inflation.

So, I paid an additional $1000 deposit and got a print out of the window sticker and the
Dealer Order form with all the package prices and final MSRP and a receipt for the deposit.

I looked up the VIN and 4 digit order code on
https://www.unitedroad.com/delivery-receipt/
which is supposed to be the trucking company that is used at the end of the second rail ride.
It shows a Load Number, my new Vin, and the destination dealer. The Ford tracking site show in transit.

Do you guys think I did the right thing ? It is a 2021, but I don't think that matters much.
I think I remember hearing that the 2021s won't get the extended useable charging range that just came out (?)
It has the panoramic roof and Co-Pilot 260 Active 2.0, but it should come w/ the improve roof, right?
Any other gotchas that anyone can think of?

Many thanks, this forum has really been invaluable!

I plan to do the awesome rear gloss black hatch wrap that @Mach Daddy showed here: ( I got an estimate for $300 )

That's nice that they have 0% avilable. In the Chicago area it's 1.9% for 36 months.

Yes, Im hoping thats still true in a week or two.

BTW, I have the funniest follow-up story concerning this upgrade order.
It all started with this youTube video by Redline Reviews on their GT PE.

The interesting part that involves me is from
minute 3:30 thru minute 4:33 in the video.

The reviewers gave up their order to get one more readily available
in Pittsburgh. I happened to go to their original dealer in York,
Apple Ford. He even says in the video to "hurry to Apple Ford and get
their order in mid-Jan." So, I got their original order, and I had watched their video the night before, and sort of recognized the last name.
He lists his full name at the beginning.
oh and their PA plate says, "LOL Tesla" haha!

I posted a comment to their review which explains the synchronicity
(theirs and mine):

Ben,
Yes you did the right thing. I picked up my GT PE at Garnet Ford in Chadds Ford, PA last weekend, as I had the same situation (ordered one in October, no build date yet, yada yada...) When I found that Garnet had the exact Mach-e GT PE I ordered, I jumped on it. Got the 1.9%/36 mo. for the balance and paid a little over MSRP, but honestly it was negligible, basically I split the difference with them between the 2022 MSRP I had on order, and the 2021 MSRP. Salesmen need to eat, too.

I figured for how I will use the car, the slight improvements on the '22 model are negligible, and getting a car sooner rather than later is preferred since (a) I'm spoiled and impatient; (b) this is a first year build, and if there are problems with this one (lemon? could happen) I still have another coming sometime next summer. So far I have been very happy with this one and the first 500 miles.

Oh- also I wanted to receive the car in the coldest weather ("worst case" driving) so I would know what to expect range and performance-wise now, vs. next year, since this is my first full BEV. I figured if I didn't like it or couldn't live with the cold weather reduced range, I could sell it in the spring with low miles rather than after next year's cold season (with higher miles), but I think it's going to work out fine.

Great response! Thank you, I really enjoyed reading this. Everyone has chimed in with comments that the 2021 GT PE will be fine, no real or major differences. I'm actually glad that this weird coincidence above got me into a Performance Edition, since I think the MagnaRide will please DW, while I get more performance. Glad to hear the first 500 miles were enjoyable. Mine is arriving in about 10 days and I can't wait. I got my ChargePoint wired up, and my all-seasons and rims are arriving from Tire Rack. I'm wrapping the rear with glossy black as others have done on this forum and legal 70% light thru XR ceramic tint on the front windows. I'm getting quotes on ceramic coating & PPF, but probably won't pay for it (or do it). I keep my cars in a garage, wash them somewhat frequently and don't mind the extra effort of polish, claybar and graphene/ceramic waxes and spray. Thanks again. I might post pictures of my car w/the YouTube'rs who gave up their car (which I got - serendipitously after the fact ).
They are exact twins, so what a photo op.
