It's sad that a dealership screws something this easy up. Glad mine didn't.

That surprises me. I just expect them all to screw up at this point.
Sadly, this is the same dealership that told me there was no updates available when my wife needed TSB 21-2249 for her IPMA. At that time I explained that the cars can be remotely accessed and we, the consumer, can see when updates are available. They should have quit their bullshit then. Some people are slow to learn.

Have no idea if it makes a difference, but my dealer is large, several techs are EV qualified. I book directly with Service Manager who knows I know more than most customers, and my salesman is the GM and one of the owners. I say things like "after you update the 12 modules"... They updated the GSM last time after this update killed my tailgate kick, and tech didn't check for DTCs.

Maybe that helps but in this case, all that was required was for someone to read page 2. I’m a nurse and can figure that part out. Literacy isn’t that hard.

That is not what Ford wants them to do. The list is very clear.
Oh I get that, I'm just relaying what happened to me.

A user here checked my VIN and let me know all I really had to update was the ABS

The Worker-Bee at Ford told me "Nope" we don't do *all* the updates at once.

so I don't know what they updated or what is left compared to the last listing (ABS only)

They factory reset the SYNC screen (again) and I had to reinstall/reconfigure everything again and now my text messages don't work after finally getting them going. I think it's just the notification needed to be turned on, but I thought I had it on.

Who knows, I'm just glad I can drive it. and the new Scriptable widget helps.

Same thing happened to me twice they updated the door modules and did the paak recall but didn't perform 21p22 even though I asked them and they had the car four days.

Now I am wondering if my 21P22 was run correctly. They had the car all day and their note said they updated 12 modules and the PCM. Since 21P22 I feel like PAAK has been worse not better. I even reset everything on my phone to try making that part better.

I can live with it until I get the windshield recall done I guess.

If they noted the 12 modules, I’d say they followed the documentation to the letter.

So,
Email reply from the service manager this morning says he’s going to reach out to a Ford Engineer for guidance on whether the other modules were supposed to update.

From page 1 of the document:
Ford Mustang Mach-E Anyone want to run my VIN after CSP 21P22? D317F633-329C-4D7E-A970-7AC0EB5EA893

I guess reading all the way to paragraph 2 is NOT in the job description of Service Manager.

He has to check with a Ford engineer to determine if he should install the updates that the CSP specifically instructs them to install? Might be time to find a new dealer.

He just got back to me and was quite apologetic. I’m sure engineering asked him if he could read.

You should be able to turn this into a "we owe you" event. Ok, humans make mistakes, but I'm taking my time for this mistake. How about _____?

I did this when DTCs weren't checked, and got the GSM (Gear Shift Module) updated, which took them under 2 minutes, which put me at 100% updated.

A few years back, my F-150 had a recall for reprogramming the transmission. Setup an appointment, drove across town, and they read the recall and discovered that it had changed, and they couldn't do my transmission (and they should have known because of the number of F-150s affected). Service Writer immediately apologized, and said "when it can be done, make sure to come in with an empty gas tank and we'll fill it". I did. Tank holds 36 gallons, I think it was down 30 - 32 at the time. That's service.
