Glass is smooth where the crack is at, doesn’t feel like a rock hit this spot, the curvature of the crack is also odd, lamination feels intact on both sides, could this be a glass imperfection? We have had some temperature swings in the last week or so… thoughts?? Should I contact @Ford Motor Company or am I SOL?

You are likely SOL unless the crack starts from an edge.

Your 2nd picture looks like there is an impact point at the far left?

Wow! You are right!! I thought that was a water droplet but when you mentioned it, I went to check and it is indeed an impact … but how did it ‘spread’ upwards?!?

Glass is weird. Cracks run, turn, flatten, or turn sharp corners for seemingly no reason at all. But yeah that’s definitely an impact crack and unable to be repaired.

Ok, mystery solved thanks to @JamieGeek ! Now another question, I’ve yet to schedule for the 2 glass recalls, so should I
1. Schedule and get turned away
2. Get safelite to change the windscreen then schedule the recall?

can ford get the recall done and change the windscreen at the same time?

Do the recall. Otherwise they may break your new windshield.
Worse case is they charge you for the glass and you turn it in to your insurance co. I’d let the insurance company know what’s going on first to make sure they cover it.

Rather than asking strangers on the internet who can only guess, why don't you talk to your dealer's service manager?

Umm, service manager is also a stranger and often feels like they don’t have time to answer questions, you strangers are more friendly, well at least most of you :)

Nature at work. Like electricity cracks follow the path of least resistance.

They're going to charge you for a new windshield. Contact your insurance company. Get it replaced and the recall checked off.

I concur. I spotted that as soon as I saw the second picture.

Take it to Safelight. Your insurance company probably provides free crack repair. If you get it soon enough they can keep it from spreading. DO NOT RUN YOUR DEFROST UNTIL YOU TAKE IT IN. The defroster is what causes the spreading you already have. Generally, if you can cover the crack with a dollar bill they can repair it. Bigger and they have to replace it.

I think that's a waste of time. When he goes to get his windshield replaced under the recall, they're not going to touch it, because of the crack. What he needs to do is coordinate a new windshield with the recall - either the recall being signed off on by Ford with someone else replacing the windshield, or Ford replacing the windshield under the recall with the insurance company paying for it.

Some policies have a lower deductible for glass, some have none. Some allow you to change your glass deductible (for the future) to low or zero. I did that some years back. I pay $19.20 a year for the 2013 F-150 and $72 for the Mach-E, with zero deductible.

Also, not that it applies to the OP, but often crack repair is free for any policy, because they don't want to replace the windshield. Safelite just did my F-150 on Thursday, got a new windshield last December.
