OTA Confusion

Took delivery of my car 6/1/21. Ever since, my Sync 4 has shown a "---" for Software version and Revision under the General tab. When I go to System Updates, I cannot toggle on the automatic updates button - the slider moves but does not illuminate. I also can't successfully save any Scheduled Updates. The same screen just says my system is up to date. But I have none of the features that you all have mentioned have come through on recent versions, like the games apps. In case it matters, every night, my car is parked within range of my wifi, which the car says its connected to.

I took it into the dealer this morning and when I got there, as I was showing the tech the issue, for the first time ever it showed Revision: 252 with a software version that I didn't catch. When I restarted my car later, it was back to ---. The dealer didn't have any immediate solutions. They said there might be an update to resolve this in March. He also suggested that I reset the system. Anyone have any other resolutions? Thanks

Have you had 21P22 applied?

Yes, 21P22 was applied last week, and I confirmed they did it by getting 40kwh while charging >80%

apparently Ford is working a solution that will be made available in February. Not sure at the moment what the fix is and if it will be through OTA or visit to ford.

Can u set a schedule to update? If so definitely set a date and time to catch anything that requires the car to be off.

had similar problems with my MME (unfortunately for months before I figured it out with hints here and there, many from this forum).
The reason nothing worked was because they failed to do their job at the factory.
The TCU module had to be replaced. Thereafter system "worked" as could be expected.
Ask your dealer to check it out.

TL;DR -
Ford botched the 1.7.1 power up and some cars were left with an incomplete update that broke OTA in general. Cars that suffered from this cannot turn on auto updates. As of yet they have not released a fix. They have said a fix IS coming in February. Their messaging around this has been a bit unclear and conflicting, but it sounds like the fix is supposed to come OTA, and if that doesn't work you can then go to the dealer to get it remedied.
